The Soth - the legend continues
Something for you all to get your peepers on this morning from USA today. A nice piece on Mr Scoscia, how he came to become an Angel and what he's done since then. Not much new news but a welcome in-depth piece on the anchor for our ballclub.
75 words, mmmm... gonna take a while to get there today. Apparently I'm still 14 words short, which is irritating. Five more words should suffice...
This Fan-Post is authored by an independent fan and may or may not be a reflection of human evolution, divine enlightenment or nine cans into a 12-pack.

Nice Article
on Scioscia. This is his 9th season. Let’s hope he give us at least another 9.

Very good article
He lives in Westlake? That’s a long commute.
by gilbert on Jun 9, 2008 10:58 AM PDT 0 recs
Westlake was something of an enclave for Dodger players back in the day.
Steve Garvey also lived out there when it was first developed.

Yeah
A buddy of mine works at the Costco in Westlake and says Scioscia is a regular shopper. Apparently his beer of choice is Corona with lime and he comes in to buy steaks on almost a weekly basis.

this is a man who loves his meat. in-n-out and steaks all day long.
which makes his man-crush for HGH perplexing because youd think hed frown upon injections injected to improve the quality of the substance

not for a guy with a Toyota Prius...
I saw him pull out of the stadium players lot and laughed. It figured a guy like Scioscia would drive an “everyman’s” car. Nothing flashy or showy. Not even tinted windows. I love the guy.

Don Baylor's quote
“I used to hate everything about the (Los Angeles) Dodgers, the way they treated us like second-class citizens. It’s nice to know that Mike got rid of that Dodger blue and turned the Angels into what the Dodgers used to be.”
Preach it Don! I think many of us younger fans don’t know the history and severity of the L.A. rivalry. Reading Once They Were Angels by Robert Goldman helped spark in me an even more pure disdain for the Dodgers.

a typo in someone’s post? I thought we were inadvertantly razzing whoever accidentally wrote “Soth.”

It gets less and less funny everytime
Kind of like a Mel Brooks film.
As a reading teacher, its complete disregard of phonetics really irks me. I can’t bring myself to use “Soth,” even if it’s supposed to be a joke. Maybe “Sosh,” but even that looks like the ‘o’ should be a short /aw/ sound.
