Bootcheck allowed a game-winning grand slam to A's second baseman Mark Ellis in Sunday's 7-3 loss, and has allowed runs in seven of his 10 outings this season. Bootcheck opened the season on the DL with a left oblique strain and complained of elbow pain on Sunday.
An MRI exam taken Monday revealed injury.
"He came out of his appearance yesterday with a sore elbow, so we're going to evaluate him and have a move pending," manager Mike Scioscia said.

Poor "Blackout" having that bad day on the mound, then having to be
tortured in a MRI chamber. Nobody to carry the pink snack sack.
For how long
do you think Bootcheck has been hurt before he fessed up to it? It irritates me when pitchers try to hide their injuries. I know older guys do it more. But it seems selfish. It hurts the team.
Kendrick - he's a tender little guy.
Bootcheck must suffer from Scottie Pippen disease
Damned faker. DL my ass—this f’er is just prolonging the inevitable (DFA).
In the words of AC/DC: We roll tonight... to the guitar bite... and for those about to rock... I salute you.
Ughhh, more likely the Angels gave him his choice...
accept the DL game or go play for KC, Sea, or some other suckie team! Not a very tough choice for anyone with half a brain…
This is bad Vlad and his band of wimps!
Give the guy a break...
get well soon, Chris. When you are well, hopefully you can pitch better than you have been.
