Uh oh...Escobar
Los Angeles Times reporting...this is just coming across the wire...that Kelvim Escobar might be shut down the season because of the pain he experienced in his rehab outing. Not such good news for us Angels fans...
This is not a completely unexpected development, but certainly looks like a disappointing one. Kelvim certainly would have shored up the bullpen a little bit.
What are everybody's thoughts on this?
Escobar out for the season...

This does not sound good...
I woke up [today] and it was like, wow, it’s painful,” Escobar said. “It’s not the normal soreness you feel after you pitch, it’s pain. And it’s in the same spot.”
Where I am still waiting for Howie to take another base on balls

Scioscia Says: "There are some hitters that need to start to see more pitches and work some counts, but there are guys that are more productive seeing that fastball and squaring it up. There are different solutions to each hitter and that's what you're working for. There's no pill you give to the whole team and have them all of sudden get into your offense."

It is wild that Funke5ive's post mentioned ...
Kelvim’s facial expressions during the warm-ups. Escy was feeling pain during the warm ups.

Bummer.
Too bad for Escy.
I really like him, and wanted the Halos to go after him when he was being dicked around with by Toronto in the late 1990’s. I sure hope the rest over the next 10 months makes a difference – but I doubt it.

damn...
were gonna have to resign garland or go after a FA pitcher this year. And with the money pitchers are getting, this is not good at all

Right-hander Kelvim Escobar suffered a setback on Monday night in his road to recovery from a torn right labrum when he experienced shoulder pain after pitching three innings at Class A Rancho Cucamonga.
Escobar, who actually pitched well by retiring nine of the 10 batters he faced, said he could tell during warmups that something was wrong with his shoulder. But he still decided to pitch and on Tuesday he admitted that it wasn’t the right decision.
This is BAD Vlad and his band of wimps!

I think it is Tommy John surgery for a torn labrum
Better do it now. But maybe he is too old for it to help.
Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.

I got it now
I read the following article
http://www.slate.com/id/2100895/
And misunderstood. Unfortunately, it seems the torn labrum is much worse:
“Leading baseball surgeon Dr. James Andrews estimates that 85 percent of pitchers make a full recovery after an ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, aka the once risky Tommy John surgery.”
“But if pitchers with torn labrums were horses, they’d be destroyed.”
Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.

If it's Weaver he's talking about, it could be labium

If we could get him for Weaver and not much else, it may be worth it...
Weaver’s peripherals, in addition to overall performance, are falling in a very Jeff-like manner. It means we’d blow next season’s free agent budget trying to resign Sabathia, and those mega-deals rarely work out… Because there’d be no money for Garland, we’d be depending on Adenhart to come through next year.
That being said, I can’t think of a pitcher other than Sabathia who’d be worth the long-term risk. Plus, we don’t lose draft picks, and if we don’t resign him, we even gain a couple.

Chill
keep Weav, let Garland go, put your trust in Adenhart next season. Everything will be fine.
