Has to be HK
They aren’t even close to being in that game w/o him!
Yes
But 2 hrs and double that was are offense
Maybe we should start one of those wave things?

I'm not sure if he was going for a double play or not, but it WAS the right play
even if he doesn’t get the dp he would have replaced Boggs at first with the catcher.
He's got the Ump's bank account number

Nice football-like collision at home, though...
Nice toughness shown by Torii and the R’s catcher.

I dunno
My girlfriend says HK47. So I’ll put in her vote.

And I've got mad hits like I was Rod Carew" - Shure Shot, The Beastie Boys
After checking FanGraphs
I’d be okay if Izzy, Dondo, or Howie get it.

Willits. Or maybe Budde. Probably Willits.
But Budde was clutch. Then again, Willits. Budde. Willits, Budde. Oh crap. I surrender.
believe it or not im gonna say speier
he got thru the 10th inning facing young, hamilton, murphy, bradley, and davis… while we were waiting for him to fail he somehow got thru the inning

that pitch that struck out the last batter
was a cookie with HIT ME written all over it, I can’t believe the batter swung right through it
And I could kick myself.
I was the first guy to nab Bradley, and I called it last night. That gave me too much time to talk myself out of it. So when the lineups came out, I jumped at the chance to hose myself.
Oh, no you di'nt just photoshop the gimp to appear as the Boy King. Or was it the other way around?

Panther: Maalox Plus
For quickly soothing my stomach from my impending ulcer after F-Rod’s error.
You ever feel as if your mind had started to erode?
Panther: Dondo
Why? Because he stopped the madness. The Rangers had come back to tie it in the 7th and had all the momentum. An Angels loss seemed certain, as the Rangers were sure to score in the 8th or the 9th. But Arredondo came up huge.
Angels split this 4-game series on the road, but it felt much, much worse. The Angels should have taken at least 3 of the games and probably should have swept the Rangers.
Ain't no stoppin' us now. We got the groove!
Dondo!!!!
I will Make It Official, I Am On The DONDO Bandwagon!! Let Frankie go at the end of the year, WE HAVE A NEW CLOSER!!!!!!
"......and you can kiss it GOODBYE"

the damn HOLD EM threads…....for not working…...two games in a row…......thats anti-panther!

The momentum was swelling in the 8th and 9th, and the kid shut them down in cold blood. I loved Howie’s bombs, but if it weren’t for ‘Dondo, we’d be on a BOTG thread.

HK for Panther
Nice work by Arredondo, Spier, and Franky but the man was Howard “Motown” Kendrick.
It's either Howie or Izzy
for Izzy to come off the bench and drive in the winning run…. wow.
but Howie went 3-5 with 2 homers; his first muti-homer game. that’s impressive too
Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.
Panther K-Rod
I thought he’d lost the game after the botched attempt to turn a DP on a pop bunt.
The best part about this series
Is that the Rangers played their little hearts out and managed a split at home.
No wait that’s a mile behind the Soth finally realizing that GMJ < Johnny Rivers
If we were allowed to give panthers to opponents ...
Art Howe! Who bunts with one of the best hitters in the league in extra innings?
and he pitched to Howie with the go ahead run at 2nd
is Howe the manager or Washington?
I saw them both together on the bench
Pass the rolaids
And let’s get the hell outta Dodge. Wow. Them feisty pricks don’t need pitching when every batter in the lineup looks like a semifinalist for the last spot on the new season of American Gladiators (I’m exaggerating. Kinsler looks like this kid I used to know who would drink his own pee for 10 bucks). Someone in Arlington finally got smart and realized their park was built for mashers so mashers they went out and got.
So yeah, thanks Texas for complicating my already acidic stomach and then making sure our fellas don’t get to Fremont with any time to get a decent night’s rest before facing a pitcher who is out to prove that the Beane didn’t get hosed in his latest attempt at media exposure. You guys are always trying to fuck things up for us.
Sure...
but unless he brings that ballpark with him, it won’t make much of a difference.

Mickey was hilarious tonight
Yelling at the ump. His face was as red as his cap. Thought for sure he was gonna come charging out of the dugout.

...or have a cardiac arrest
“Code blue! Code blue!”
"Bloody your hands on a cactus tree/
Wipe it on your dress and send it to me."
Howie with two freaking HRs and the last out gets the panther.
Oh, and like with Scioscia last night, I give the blame to Ron Washington’s bench coach. Bunting Ian Kinsler in that situation? The Halos appreciate it. Thanks.
Willits needs to play, every, single, freaking, day. Now.
Split Vote
Panther
Howie but more importantly Juan Rivera 3 -5 night with a couple runs scored should keep GMJ on the bench a little longer
Willie Mays Aikens is FREeeeeeeee
GMJ is going to be on the bench terminally
When the Soth benches someone, he BENCHES someone.

Should have done the old yellow on black version
Cuz Lackey is old school. Stirrups licence plates are quickly becoming my favourite feature of this site. and that WIN pic kicks ass.
GO HALOS tonight against the white-shoed enemy.

thx.
I used a late 60’s plate precisely because it was old school. Yellow on black would be old school for me, but that’s because I am a lot older than Lackey!
That's a '70s plate
Per the CA DMV, blue plates were introduced in 1970.
Of course that page also says that no blue plates were issued after 1982. This is incorrect. White plates were an option from 1982 They discontinues blue plates in 1987. I had a 1985 Mazda 626 that I bought new, and received blue plates from the DMV.
Once the licence numbers turned over from 1ZZZ999 to 2AAA000, only white plates were issued.
Prior to ‘63, was black on yellow. ‘63 to ‘69 was yellow on black.

Blue plates
CalPl8s confirms that the blue plates were issued concurrently with the white plates through 1987.

Old School
I think maybe yetijuice is the only other HHer older than me but I have driven a VW bug with black license plates. OK I’ll confess it was already a really old car by the time I got it but what a classic that was.
And this is a true story: That bug died on me one day when I was driving back from Palm Springs for a spring training game. It was struggling to get up over that pass, you know, the pass with all the windmills.. It bit the dust at Banning.
I got lucky and there was a guy in Banning at 5pm who could fix it. Oil pan thing. Paid him $25 or what not and got the bug back to OC. Don’t know whatever happened to that car, I sold it for dirt cheap but it floated at least once in the Cal State Fullerton parking lot. And the electric heaters in those old bugs kicked ass. And so did the black license plates.

Those bugs were nearly indestructible, unless they caught fire!
I always loves how there were as many places to get a bug fixed back then as there are 7/11’s today. It was as common as appliance repairmen!
Thanks for the story!
Banning baby!
Middle of nowhere. Dude fixed it in no time, got me home to OC.
I love nostalgia. But I love winning more. I’l

Speaking of Banning
I left the US five years ago. When I left it had been at least 3 years since I’d been in the 10 South.
There used to be Banning in between Riverside and Palm Springs, and there was another small town called Beaumont. I think. Before I moved overseas there was a big place called Moreno Valley which was full of spanking-new housing developments, etc.
Just my gut instinct, but I think we should have a new nickname for the Big A: Moreno Valley.

Moreno Valley
That’s where my uncle and cousins lived during the 90’s, if I remember correctly.
I remember in Middle School I used to watch the morning news before riding to school and at least once a month there was a report about a gang shooting, people getting killed, etc.
When I was in high school, they moved to Murrieta(6 years ago?), a town that is also full of new developments but doesn’t get on the news as often.

Everyone I grew up with in Pomona lives out towards MV now. It was about the only place you could buy a house for less than half a million a few years back. But it’s still out in the boonies!

I lived there in 83-85
We called it Sunnymead. I remember there being a Raceway. It was LOUD!
We lived in one of those brand new developments, nice big house, it was fun as a kid, i played baseball, soccer, bmx, ect. I dont remember there being gang violence, I was only 7, but I think it was pretty chill back then.
We did Palm Springs (Spring Training) often. The two things that stick out in my mind are “Ice cold beer hear” and being in my uncles Jeep, on the srip, while everyone was squirting each other with water guns.
"i got 5ive on it"
I remember that vendor at Palm Springs
who used to say “get yer ice cold beeeya heeeya” in sort of a Midwestern accent. He was a big friendly guy. And I did get many an ice cold beer off him on those hot spring training days.
