I wonder …..will Torii Hunter get his SLG onto the Interstate in Oakland this season? He’s SLG .067 in Oakland this season, and batting .200 against A’s pitching overall.

because they’ve been under-performing…..but yet…..the team is still winning? why is it okay for Torii but not these guys?

the numbers dont always tell the whole story..........

If a player gets 1 hit in 3 atbats….......then they are batting 333…...(which is good i would say) but if that one hit is during an inning where there are already two outs…....and the 2 outs they get is when RISP….....then really how good was that game for that player? This is my MAIN gripe with torii.

Given that he has 43 RBI (4th, 1 short of being tied for second)

and 49 runs scored (1st on the team), he seems to be doing fine with putting numbers up. GMJ has not put up numbers. Justin Speier has not put up numbers.

Baseball is the game of 70% failure. 1 out of 3 means you did pretty well. Why should it matter if there were 2 out? Does the fact that there were two out mean you shouldn’t try just as hard as you do with men on?

The whole thing reeks of a vendetta frankly. You’ve already decided Torii is bad, for whatever reason, and choose to believe that he has been bad despite evidence to the contrary, while pointing to intangibles like “clutchness” that he supposedly does not have.
