Matthews has a slight tear in a tendon in his knee. Season-ending surgery, anyone?
Getting him on the bench will be the best upgrade this offense could get in the second half and if he is really hurt, Scioscia can't play him because of veteran mojo! It's a win/win situation.

If they suck and they are hurt, why not just admit it?
We know ya did it.
Not woo hoo...
but instead a polite clap for the injured party and a hearty “get well soon.”
It is great, though, that the Halos have the depth in Juan Rivera to not only spell Matthews, but maybe contribute more than a hurt GMJ was.
