C'mon, Izzy, you're the only guy besides Juice without a hit.
*Visiting Angels fan* Never give up, never surrender!
thats 2 games in a row, too
do we see the Admiral tomorrow?

Justin in to see if he can keep the score where it is...

Speier says..
“look! I give up homers too!”

How come WE don't get to bat against him?
Francisco Rodriguez: 186 career saves. 2 career Panthers, tied with Hector Carrasco.
another HR, this is getting ridiculous
Hooters anyone?

until he got sick last year
you mean.
With an unidentified illness that we all want to diagnose as “a sudden case of sucking ass”

This is what other relievers not named Shields or K-Rod do by the way.
They’ll own with a 2 era one year and suck balls the next. Shields and K-Rod are WAY under-appreciated for how consistently awesome they’ve been.
~Till the Halo burns out...
outside of Fenway.
But yes, by-and-large relief pitching is inexplicably terrible in the AL.

I hate nights like tonight.
It takes all the momentum built up over the past week and a half, and all the success realized, and throws it all away in such a manner that all the critics can forget everything and proclaim that the Angels are nothing without A Big Bat.
Yeah, as if The Big Bat will always come up to the plate at that magic time when we have runners in scoring position, and they will always get the big hit, winning the game for us. Like it already does for Vladdie. Not.
Francisco Rodriguez: 186 career saves. 2 career Panthers, tied with Hector Carrasco.
See but that was just it.
Juan kept coming up in the clutch, and kept COMING THROUGH in the clutch. This game ain’t over yet though.
~Till the Halo burns out...
fair enough, it isn't over
but with the whiffleball offense of the Angels and a complete lack of cohesion, there’s little chance we rally for 5 runs in 2 innings.
by shiftyeyedgoat on Jul 21, 2008 9:22 PM PDT up reply actions
The "whiffleball" offense is bullshit.
We have a good offense. We’ve rallied for 4 runs against josh becket, and we can do it against these bozos.
~Till the Halo burns out...
scattering singles all night
scoring one run on a doinker from the 9-slot.
That’s whiffleball’d.
by shiftyeyedgoat on Jul 21, 2008 9:25 PM PDT up reply actions
No, it's lack of clutch'd.
There’s a difference.
*Visiting Angels fan* Never give up, never surrender!
that's whiffleball'd
lots of hits, without a lot of meaning.
:(

Wow. One game defines us.
Ever thought of trying out as an ESPN anchor? You’d be a natural.
~Till the Halo burns out...
lol, where have you been all season?
Go apologize somewhere else about the 4th worst offense in the league.
by shiftyeyedgoat on Jul 21, 2008 9:29 PM PDT up reply actions
pardon, 5th worst.
We got the upgrade of Izturis in the 3-slot.
Ugh.
by shiftyeyedgoat on Jul 21, 2008 9:30 PM PDT up reply actions
We got Rivera hitting 375 475 700.
Guess you missed that part.
*Visiting Angels fan* Never give up, never surrender!
Good thing scioscia has faith in the 5th OF'er
enough to play him every day ahead of GMJ.
by shiftyeyedgoat on Jul 21, 2008 9:33 PM PDT up reply actions
See, saying we have a bad offense and saying GMJ
shouldn’t be playing are very different things.
*Visiting Angels fan* Never give up, never surrender!
Oh, it's both.
Juan Rivera is massively overrated, but only by Angel fans praying for a bat to come along.
But a trade is no good, because then we’ll essentially be trading away the future for a shot at winning the ALDS.
by shiftyeyedgoat on Jul 21, 2008 9:35 PM PDT up reply actions
Yup.
Massively overrating the .880 hitter an offense that’s averaged ~6 runs a game without GMJ. The same offense that whooped the Sox in three straight.
~Till the Halo burns out...
The first game, was a whoopin'
And no one is more glad to see that than I am. But the next two were come-from-behind nailbiters.
You can thank your local Kotchman for that.
by shiftyeyedgoat on Jul 21, 2008 9:39 PM PDT up reply actions
Rivera started that rally.
Clutch hits make the difference, and so did he.
~Till the Halo burns out...
woot?

Where have you been the past month?
Trying to find a darker shade of sunglasses? The light must be getting really painful by now.
~Till the Halo burns out...
Losing in the first round of the playoffs yet again,
is really going to suck after such a beautiful showing by the rotation all year.
by shiftyeyedgoat on Jul 21, 2008 9:31 PM PDT up reply actions
Where as if we followed the advice of most on the board,
half the rotation would be gone for a 1B with an .800 OPS. Joy.
*Visiting Angels fan* Never give up, never surrender!
hey, I've learned not to listen to anyone here.
These’re the same people who wanted Escobar in the bullpen at the outset of the 2007 season.
by shiftyeyedgoat on Jul 21, 2008 9:34 PM PDT up reply actions
You could always root for the Sox.
I hear that goes over great at ESPN too.
~Till the Halo burns out...
They've got enough whining, piss-moaning ladies
in their fan base that they don’t need the addition of little ol’ me.
by shiftyeyedgoat on Jul 21, 2008 9:36 PM PDT up reply actions
Only problem is I doubt Mike pinch hits for Juice.
*Visiting Angels fan* Never give up, never surrender!
would you?
the guy is raking, and he’s obviously a big league hitter.

blame GMJ
we didnt suck until he was stuck back in the lineup.
obviously, our offense caught fire with Juan…. so naturally, we should disturb that in the middle of a winning streak.

Too Much Good Stuff
Francisco Rodriguez: 186 career saves. 2 career Panthers, tied with Hector Carrasco.
You need to stop asking them to do things.
Or better yet, start asking them to do the opposite.
~Till the Halo burns out...
does anybody find it interesting
that after winning five straight the night we bring GMJ back is the night our offense goes to crap
Insightful observation.
Francisco Rodriguez: 186 career saves. 2 career Panthers, tied with Hector Carrasco.
It's certainly not Gary's fault.
What with his 2 K’s, 2 weak GBs, 3 LOB and a costly, stupid error.
~Till the Halo burns out...
apparently, the ump had somewhere to go
this whole night sucked
Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.
i was okay with this loss until i realized that gary is playing again
what the hell? seriously? what the hell
If he's playing tomorrow
we’ll know that Scioscia has been kidnapped by the Bosox and replaced by a modified FRANCONABOT2000
