???

He’s on pace for 70 innings… same as always…

~Till the Halo burns out...

by Zu Long on Jul 22, 2008 10:07 PM PDT up reply actions

What?

I think he will have more then 17 appearances (64 last year) currently 47. You ever consider the times he gets up in the pen and the travel time this year with the All Star game, and the fact he is throwing 88-91 mph FB shows a tired arm.

67 innings last year

On pace for 72. He’s been as high as 84 in a season.

by Zu Long on Jul 22, 2008 10:16 PM PDT up reply actions

I know

But we are talking about a guy that has logged inning, and is not getting younger. Not saying he is the old man just know that he was a guy in the minors that was a starter, but had arm problems (elbow). One reason they made him a closer, and the fact he had no third pitch. Not such the case with the change now being a pitch he features from time to time.

I have a buddy that worked out of the pen for years that got dry humped (warmed up didn’t go in the game) 78 times before the all star break. He decided to stop counting because of the insanity. As he said to me he use to think that it was just normal to hurt.

Franky's only injury issues in the bigs have been ankle-related.

As mentioned, because of the way things have worked this year, Franky’s become a ninth inning only guy. He’s 26 and apparently does a ton of work throwing off flat surfaces etc. to make sure he stays healthy.

I hear you on the dry-humping thing, but Mike doesn’t really do stuff like that.

Not actually working more than he usually does.

Just every time he’s in is a save op.

by yeswecan on Jul 22, 2008 10:07 PM PDT reply actions

I feel like Frankie's control is off generally,

...or he expects hitters to swing at his breaking pitches way too often.
