Anyone going to the BoSux series? Wed 7/30?

I am flying out to see Skankee stadium before they tear it down.  I have a ticket for Tues and realized the Angels are in Boston at the same time.

Any HH'ers going to Wed's (7/30) game vs Bos or have a tix I can buy...a fellow Angel fan tourguide would be awesome!   My flight to JFK for tonight was cancelled due to weather...thunderstorms or some such dribble!  :(

Advice for attending the Boston game is happily solicited... :)  Never been to either place and will be flying solo!

Thanks!

Advice for Boston

Don’t buy a seat behind a pillar.

That fat drunk “irish” guy with the moustache screaming at you is a girl.

Will not be in Boston

But look for a whole group of Angels Booster Club members, who will be out there.

I will be at Yankee Stadium for our series there—I fly out of SNA Wednesday night for arrival in NYC Thursday am!!

Can’t wait!!!!!!!!!

The dude who sells beer outside in the closed street touching Fenway is a closet Angels fan.

He is from Huntington and owns a bar there still. He was fun to talk to when I was there for the Angels series last year.

Seattle I would like to thank you for sucking. It allows me to get back to my roots: Hating Fremont.

Don't worry

about not having a ticket when you get to Boston. Take the T, and wait until the middle of the first, there will be plenty of scalpers trying to unload tix. Buy anything not in the bleachers.

Lamest poster of all-time.

eh, Fenway

Everything’s really expensive, so if you like beer, drink before you arrive. The bars nearby (mostly on Landsdowne Street) are usually packed before game time, so either get there early or party with Northeastern students. Tickets are available online en masse, but usually at a steep price, but if you’re willing to wait until the second inning, tickets come well below face from the “need tickets” guys out front.

You can also get in line outside Gate C a couple hours before the game and buy whatever tickets remain, usually standing room in the grandstand or on the Monster. Usually, there’s between 200 and 300 tickets available, and they’ll sell you a pair per person, so if you count people ahead of you, you can decide whether it’s worth the wait or not.

Inside Fenway, if you’re lucky, you’ll sit next to pre-2000 season ticket holders who will appreciate self deprecating humor and actually like baseball. If you’re unlucky, you’ll sit next to drunk BU kids who suck, and I’d say it’s more likely to find drunk college kids than funny old folk, but you never know. It’s gonna depend a lot on where you sit, and you’ll be able to tell who’s legit and who isn’t from what color hat they wear and what name they have on their jersey. Real Boston fans are really nice to talk to.

If you can, try and get up onto the Monster at some point. Even after the game, it’s still a neat place to take some pictures. You might also want to walk around and try sitting in the old, blue wooden seats in the grandstand. They’re the oldest seats in baseball, and you can feel the history as your ass goes numb. Just try to avoid sitting behind a pole. There are lots of poles.

Fenway’s fun, which is why the Red Sox need to fall way out of it soon. 2006 was nice because I could go to games for $10 and enjoy baseball without idiot bandwagon fans running through the concourse with Coors Light spilling all over the ancient concrete.

Go Huskies, go Halos.

Outstanding gang...a big thank you!

So let me see if I got this straight…

no pillars, check…
no mustachoed women, check…
wait til the 1st/2nd inning for desperate scalpers who “need tickets,” check…
Fenway’s fun, but it was better when they were losers, check…
looking for non-bandwagon fans, check, (er, good luck with that!)
drunk BU students suck, check…(but do they swallow?) :D
look 4 Angels Booster Club members, check (friendly faces in Red…cool!)

This is BAD Vlad and his band of wimps! (can't change it now, cuz the last time I did...he started sucking again!)
