A whole lotta shakin' going on.
That was my first earthquake experience! Having lived in The Netherlands all my life, all I had to worry about (well, not really ofcourse) were floods.
Check this out.
Sorry for not posting anything baseball related, but that was a first for me... Entire house started shaking here (Irvine).
Seems like a pretty serious one. Hope everyone is fine. And hope Angel Stadium is fine, too ;-)
Yes I know I need seventy five words but I really, really, really don't have more to say right now.

Here in Laguna Niguel it was pretty strong too.
Strongest one I’ve felt in a long time. I guess the good news is that my first instinct was to run for cover under the door frame. All of those safety lessons in kindergarten paid off!

I felt it in Westlake Village
Strong enough the shake the ground, but not nearly strong enough to any damage out here.
Hope everyone is OK.

As a resident of the midwest who has never been through a serious quake,
hope you guys are okay out there. CNN made it sound moderately serious.

5.8 is NOTHING
I’m not exactly sure how the Richter scale works but isn’t each point mean it’s like 10 or 100 times stronger? The ones in the 90’s (Northridge/Landers) were way stronger. This one wasn’t bad at all where I was (Westminster Mall)

It's a log scale...
...6 is 10 times stronger than a 5, a 7 is 100 times stronger, an 8 is 1000 times stronger.

And 5.4 is 40 times weaker than 5.8
Francisco Rodriguez: 190 career saves. 2 career Panthers, tied with Hector Carrasco.

Right. 4 times. D'oh.
It was actually meant as a post to correct the magnitude, which was downgraded from 5.8 to 5.4
Francisco Rodriguez: 190 career saves. 2 career Panthers, tied with Hector Carrasco.

my aunt in huntington beach
said there was some good shaking, someone said they heard a BOOM, and it topped over a 500 lb. tool chest in their garage which is anchored by 2×8’s. so…not bad, too bad i missed it
