Saw Your Post Rev...

Hey Rev I saw your post over at Talking Chop.  What a bunch of jerk losers over there!  They cuss entirely too much.  Complain too much.  And don't appreciate anything.  They don't realize the quality guy they got with Casey Kotchman.  I'm gonna miss watching him play but am excited with having Tex.  Hopefully he seals the deal on a ring this year.  And if he goes then we've got a decent draft coming up for once!  But Teixeira should really consider extending with the Halos because The teams he is reported wanting to go to (Yankees, and Orioles) are a bad choice.  O's going nowhere always.  And the Skanks aren't going to be much for awhile.  If he wants to win, stay with the Angels.

Braves Fans

I guess we will be like them eventually – all full of our own stink because we won a bunch of division titles.

Ouch.

I think we may one up them this year!

If I were a Braves fan...

I’d be kind of PO’d too. They traded a lot of players to get this guy only a year ago and now “only” have Casey to show for it.

Kotchman, Adenhart + 1 prospect

I wonder how pissed they’re going to be when they read that the “Braves asked for Kotchman, top pitching prospect Nick Adenhart and a third player in exchange for Teixeira.” (per espn) and ended up with Casey and Marek

Please don't base all Braves fans on internet comments alone

Kudos to you Rev Halofan, for popping your head in the Thunderdome that is currently known as Talking Chop. I say this with no sarcasm, no hostility, because what you did was alright by me.

It’s been extremely tense on our side of the fence the last few weeks due to the Teixiera sweepstakes, and you happened to catch a lot of our fanbase at a really bad time; due to the media spin, a lot of folks were hell bent on a deal with the Diamondbacks (Connor Jackson/Chad Tracy or Scherzer/Parker) which clearly didn’t happen, and many are unhappy with the results with the Angels. Unfortunately, you and other Halo fans saw some of the negative backlash. Please don’t think all Braves fans are ungrateful whiners, because there certainly are many who at least have the mindset to give the trade a chance before making judgment.

I’m happy for Teix, because with the Angels, he gets a legitimate chance at a championship, which a guy like him deserves after toiling away in Texas for all those years. I hope he energizes your offense like he did for ours last season, and gives Vlad (I imagine you’ll bat him 3-4) some protection that I’d be willing to say is an upgrade from Torii Hunter.

I’m optimistic about Kotchman for us; I feel that he hasn’t completely developed into his optimal power, and think he’ll be more than adequate at 1B. I saw his glove in person a few months ago, and I think he’ll be just fine. And in an age where impending free-agency is looked upon like a highly contagious disease, it’s nice to know we won’t have to worry about “who’s next” for a few years.

Like I said, there are quite a few optimistic, non-negative-nancies over in Atlanta, but unfortunately, it’s so easy to see the negative at times. It also doesn’t help the alarming number of new members we get each day who just want to voice their frustration, and never bask in the few joys that come along with the game.

Anyway, I hope you folks don’t mind me sharing my thoughts. The trade’s a trade; I won’t say my opinion on whether it was good or not, because neither player has done a thing for either of our teams, but I hope it works out for the best for all of us.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Thanks for your post...

you seem to be a pretty cool fellow, Roy.

I wish Casey the best for himself and for the Atlanta Braves.
