But still a great start.

It's a great day to be an Angels fan.
Our ace gets two outs away from a no-no in one of our houses of horrors, Fenway Park.
We acquire the big bat we’ve been wanting for years now.
Our division lead is the biggest in club history.
And, finally, our Halos have the best record in all of baseball.
YES WE CAN!

Bora$
Scott Bora$ clients do not sign contract extensions; they all become free agents, and sign with the team that offers the most money. Period. It’s simple to resign Teixeira: offer him the most money. If they do, he stays; if they don’t, he leaves. A very simple equation.

I don't know
The Yankees, although they’ll have a LOT more money to spend next year (no more luxury tax), do have a lot of 1B/DH types already on the roster, even assuming they don’t keep Giambi. They’ll probably need a catcher, and pitching, before they sign a 1B, and so they might not top the Angels’ offer.

That we used Jose, Shields and KRod, John’s performance was even better. I was worried about our ‘pen playing these seven games against BOS/NYY but John did his part.

Here is something I read from the beloved LA Times
“Teixeira does not come without a little baggage—he was a suspected target of critical comments made this month by Rangers closer C.J. Wilson.
In an interview with Dallas radio station KTCK, Wilson said the chemistry in the Rangers’ clubhouse had improved markedly this season, saying a “dark cloud” had been lifted from the club last July.
The Rangers traded Teixeira, Kenny Lofton and Eric Gagne last July. Wilson cited Gagne as a good teammate but did not mention Teixeira or Lofton by name.
“Some of the big-name guys weren’t exactly interested in being part of a team,” Wilson said. “They were just interested in bank accounts.”
Scioscia, though, said he “doesn’t think chemistry is going to be an issue. He certainly blends in on the field. In the clubhouse, that won’t be an issue.”
I was worried that this guy was a me, me, me type. I hope he doesnt ruin a good thing by being an ass. I guess we will wait and see

What an incredible afternoon.
I was sitting in my office with a good friend/fellow Angel fan. We hit refresh on the news and saw the trade was consummated. We’ve always been the team that stood pat at the deadline, and then we watched some big bats take us down in October.
But now, look at the heart of our order:
Figgy
HK47
Texeira
Vlad
Torii
GA
JuanGone
Mathis/Naps
Izzy/Aybar
Lots of power. Lots of production. Great table setters for the producers. It’s a fantastic lineup. I have to say that the acquisition of Torii, combined with this acquisition of Tex, turns us into quite the dangerous offensive club.
Whod’ve thunk it?
And then, our big stud, who’s been having problems recently, and has needed a statement outing against the Sox, goes out, in their house, and lays down the complete domination. That was one of the most dominating performances by an Angel starter since Big John Stud did basically the same thing to Oakland when he retired 27 in a row after a leadoff hit. That was an amazing piece of work by Big John tonight. And the offense lays out another six runs. Impressive.
This has been one of the greatest few hours Angel fans have had since October 02…
