Do not fail to recognize our new Royalty - Reagins is King!!

Very simply, this is a brilliant move!  We are much better today with Tex in the lineup.  In fact, everyone in the lineup gets a little better today.  In addition,  I think we can resign him once he gets a taste of Scioscia baseball.  Worst case:  Morales, Trumbo and a couple top draft picks - hell, I might even prefer that list (and the extra 25MM to spend).  GO HALOS.  Tony, you are King!!! Now, go get Sherrill or another dominant lefty.  KING TONY!

agreed

Morales may be a step below Kotch defensively, but if he becomes the full-time 1B next year, he could easily hit 25 bombs with a high average

Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

easily is a bit of an over-statement

if we don’t resign tex, morales could fill in, maybe hitting close to .300 with 17 hr and 89 rbi…max. but honestly, that isn’t all that bad, given the endless possibilities that go along with this trade.

Sherrill a dominant lefty???

His performance indicates he’d be the 5th best reliever in our pen.

I think Tex will be resigned

I’ve been listening and reading all the statements Tex has made and he seems to be happy coming to LA.

His contract will probably be monstrous, but having Scott Boras as an agent will play well into our hands at the end of the season.

If he wins a ring here, I would say 90% that he stays in LA for the next 5 years at 100 million.

If not, I see a 65% chance. I honestly don’t think he will sign with the Orioles or Yankees; and we know the Red Sox Nation won’t give up on Kevin YourBeardKillsilis.

i don't agree

everything i hear and read tells me he’s going to the highest bidder. I’m on the fence whether we should resign him or not. Either way, i am cool with it. We either have a big bat for years to come to add/replace Vladdy or we have extra cash & prime draft picks.

Go Angels!

Not to take anything away from Kotch...

But this seems like the first time in a long time that another team was willing to make a trade with us (yes us) without gutting the entire team and farm. I mean we did lose a quality player and all, but we got quality in return without losing any pitching or great prospects.

And we still have Howie!

wood, adenhart, saunders, santana, mathis, and all the other players that teams always seems to be demanding from us

It was smart for the Braves though...

they would have lost Teix this year anyway… may as well get Kotch.

Of course I'm right... I have a UC education.

That's why we got Teix for as little as we did.

ATL had to move him and few contenders had a need at 1B. The list of monied buyers was small, driving down the price. ATL was more motivated than the Halos were, for a change.

Francisco Rodriguez: 190 career saves. 2 career Panthers, tied with Hector Carrasco.
