Myspacecobar has surgery
". Angels pitcher Kelvim Escobar had right shoulder surgery Tuesday in New York. Mets team doctor David Altchek repaired Escobar's posterior labrum"
This kind of went unnotticed with all the trade deadline stuff going down. This is kind of a bummer and I wish he would have gotten it sooner... there is no mention on how long they think it will take to heal, and when he does what happens then? I know we are all caught up in pennant fever and next year is ages away, but I love Escobar and yet love the way our rotation has blossomed this year, tough to say who takes a seat.

When are they going to put the fanshots in with the fanposts…I swear the shots get lost in the shuffle.
Bullpen
If he can’t throw 90 pitches then the bullpen doesn’t take much of a hit when Frankie walks.
Let the rehab program
of MySpace hoochies begin.
He needs
9 months to a year. He has probably thrown his last pitch as an Angel, sadly enough.

Yeah...
I wasn’t really clear, either. That’s 9-12 months before he can start a rehab assignment. So, it would take that to mean that he would need time to build arm strength, throw simulated games, etc. then go to the minors to try to prepare to throw in the majors.
Sad to see him go – I really like him – but he is done as an Angel unless he signs an incentive laden contract for 2010 to work his way back – but that is unlikely. He might not pitch again.

For some reason...
I never really became attached to Kelvim … Maybe I didn’t see him pitch enough. I think I’ve only seen him pitch once in person and then on TV only another handful of times. BTW, I’ve been to 50 games between this year and last year and probably another 10-15 the year before last.

i thought he was good
but i was never really attached either.
not sure why… he just never struck me as anything THAT amazing.
Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.
All I remember is that day he melted in the heat pitching in Anahiem, lasted just a few innings, and we ended up losing that game.
the biggest thing i remember is a game we played in Cincinnati
where he had a TON of Ks.
i liked it, but again, was never really attached.
i found it…. 6/13/2007. he had 14 Ks on 6 innings

I really dig him...
His massive arsenal of pitches and big strikeout tendencies always excited me. Also, I look back at his first year and see that Colon won 18 games with an ERA over 5.00 while Kelvim won 11 with an ERA under 4.00. I always watched closely after that season – to see if he was indeed getting screwed. Usually, he was a victim of awful run support.
2007 was a great year for him and I am glad he had that year if this is the end of his dominating ways. He thinks he can be ready to go in 7 months – the surgery was a success and his rotator cuff was fine apparently. Only his labrum needed some attention. Pretty minor – all things considered.

WTF? The Mets team doctor?
Seattle I would like to thank you for sucking. It allows me to get back to my roots: Hating Fremont.
Kobe tell me how my ass tastes
Thought that was weird too
At least he wasn’t operated on by a lunatic on a bus in Canada
Don't call me Desmond
