***Me to fellow die-hard Ryan after the Angels scored their tenth run on an eighth inning Tommy Murphy home run (10+ runs = free hot wings):
Me: "What the hell are you doing, dude?"
Ryan: "I'm flapping my wings for hot wings!"
Me: "Sit the f*** down and stop acting like a drunk 15-year-old, you ain't Christopher Lloyd and we ain't sitting in the outfield"

I'll be at the game tonight with #3 son...
...we’ll be wearing the Angels gear seated just to the pitcher’s left of home plate 12 rows up.

Under to the 3rd Power
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adam J. Morris over at Lone Star Ball has a poll up whether or not the Mathis/Ramirez
play at the plate was clean or not. Feel free to support Jeff Mathis and go over and vote.
Hindsight is 20/20...
but Mathis could have gone in low and scored on that play. The throw was pretty delayed getting in there….the first baseman left his catcher vulnerable to that hit.

I read a similar comment here last night.
So I went back and re-ran that play on my DVR over and over again. I did not come away convinced that this would be true. Ramirez was very quick to turn with the ball, and had his leg blocking the plate. Mathis would have had to commit to a slide, which slows down progress, then slide, which also slows down progress, then navigate around Ramirez’ left foot, and hope to get under the tag that Ramirez was coming with pretty quickly. We will never know, of course, but I remain unconvinced. Therefore, I really liked seeing Ramirez get clocked. Old school baseball!
I just watched the highlight about 10 times...
but ok, your opinion is your opinion. There was plenty of space for an appendage to hit that plate, IMHO.

after reading the post game report last nite
mathis said he was a little worried that the rangers were gonna take that hit the wrong way

When I was up at bat, there was always someone in scoring position, and that someone was me. -Reggie Jackson
tonight's lineup:
Figgins 3B
Matthews RF
Aybar SS
Guerrero DH
Hunter CF
Kendrick 2B
Anderson LF
Quinlan 1B
Mathis C
uhm… did Kotch get hurt last night? i realize Harrison’s a lefty, but come on… seriously? Matthews and Quinlan in, but no Rivera?
Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.
Whoa
That’s a terrible lineup. In Sosh we trust…
Harrison being a lefty means Kotch should be in the lineup. I don’t need to remind you of his LHP hitting ways this season.

That would have thrown Sosh's 2-hole experiment out of whack?
Grasping, I know. So much for Juan working out at 1B so he could get some more ABs. Tonight seems like a golden opportunity for that. But hey, Quinlan hit LHP real well in ‘06 so…

giving Kotch a night off and giving Q a shot doesn't bother me
as much as having GMJ in instead of Juan
Angels in 08!
it does me
Kotch RAKES left handers.
