...where exactly do you live?
The Rangers play in the Central time zone which is 2 hours ahead of Anaheim time.
Meaning when the Rangers start at 5:05 PM PDT (Pacific Daylight savings Time), they are starting at 7:05 PM CDT (Central Daylight Savings Time).
Nowhere in that equation is 6:05PM.

Rain?
What’s that? Water from the sky you say? Man, you are crazy!
So WTF is up with GMJ batting second? Is it not enough to have a black hole in the bottom half of the batting order, now we have to place it right behind Figgy and in front of Vlad. And Aybar 3rd? I love the Admiral, but since when do you put a slap-hitting .270 hitter in the 3-hole?
I know Sosh is a genius (and I don’t mean that sarcastically) but he really is challenged sometimes when it comes to writing out a line-up.
P.S. BTW, if GMJ goes 4-5 including a picture-perfect H&R, and scores 3 runs, and the Admiral goes 3-4 with 2 HRs, I am totally taking credit!

hey Gaudin was converted to a shitty inning eater...
So basically the Cubs get a piece of shit, a broken piece of shit (Harden) while the A’s will scavenge off the ripe meat of the Cubs prospect list.

3.59 ERA with a .263 BAA for a middle reliever?!!?

4.43 ERA in 34 starts last year.
He was 24. The guy they just got is 22, and not doing any better.

a) So the fuck what?
b) Who said any of these players are worth a damn? Harden is when he is healthy, and since Harden does not connote good health on a baseball team - he’s had two seasons pitching 120+ innings since 2003 and only neared 200 with 180 ONE TIME 4 years ago - methinks the A’s dumped off a player they thought would no longer be able to compete in their youth-oriented system.
Gaudin is a shitty deposed starter from a heavy pitcher’s park moving to a notorious HITTER’s park as a supposed starter? Great logic.

a) So they traded for poor value.
b) You did when you said the A’s were “scavenging off the ripe meat from the Cubs prospect list.” Point is, they traded a Grade A starter when healthy plus a 3/4th starter for a guy who projects right now as… 3/4th starter. Oh, and they got a box of crap too.
c) Take some chill pills.

Nooo...
A prospect is ripe, but worth nothing other than his potential. Making him not worth much more than a damn.
They traded a pitcher who has pitched 541 IP in going on 6 seasons, a pitcher who was crappy even in a HUGE pitcher’s park for an even younger pitcher holding his own in a park so small you can throw a ball for a home run, a prospect from the minors with good potential, and two meh players up top.
Get a girlfriend, maybe she’ll keep you busy enough to not make 1/5 of the posts here.

watching the game whilst she sits in traffic
Gaudin is crappy because he has shown to be no better than a 4.5-ish ERA pitcher who can maybe hold down a 5-slot in a park that affords no advantages to opposing hitters.
Gallagher is freshly 23 and in his first major league season pitching for a supposed World Series contender and doing well in a park that allows hitters to nearly bunt for home runs.
I’d take the latter.

Bummer.
I’d argue that at 24, 4.43 ain’t bad for a full season, and there’s plenty of room to improve. Saying he’s “no better than 5 slot” is underrating him. That’s 4 slot on a good team. Oakland’s a pitchers park and Chicago’s a hitters park, but the NL is still AAAA.
Gallagher pitching for a WS contender doesn’t have much to do with his potential. His ERA is slightly higher than Gaudin’s, in a league where pitchers bat, and he has trouble making it past 5 innings.
Now, if it were Gallagher for Gaudin straight up, yeah, sure A’s got a steal. But throwing Harden in there, and the equation changes. You’d need more than some loose OF pieces and a single A Catcher to equal what Harden brings to the table, even with an injury history like his.

Saunders need to plunk the first Texas batter.
That draws the warning, preventing Texas retaliation against Mathis for last night. It also puts Saunders in the position of not having to retaliate for any Mathis beaning, and thereby getting tossed.
Based on the screaming of Bradley last night, one of our guys, probably Mathis in his first AB, is gonna get beaned anyway. We might as well have the upper hand.
