SLC puts the beatdown on Tacoma
Much like the MLB teams, Angels AAA affiliate SLC took down the Mariner's own very best (worst) Tacoma to the tune of 20-7 last night. Box Score Here. Wow, Seattle really can't catch a break recently, huh? Gotta love it.
Sean Rodriguez, not to be outdone by Chris Pettit's 7 RBI performance for AA Arkansas the day before, went 3-5 with a 3 run HR, a 2 run HR, a double, 4 runs scored and EIGHT RBI. (Yes, I understand I'm venturing dangerously close into Acuda MILB-mancrush territory with S-Rod. It's a slippery slope).
Also, Nick Adenhart picked up his 6th win of the season with the Bees. Unfortunately, it was the offense that caused the win, not so much his pitching prowess. He went 5 IP, allowing 10 hits and 7 ER with 3 HR to raise his ERA to a whopping 5.74 on the year. Something tells me he might benefit from repeating AAA in 2009...

Adenhart? Try Brandon Wood!
1-for-5 in a game where every other Bees starter had at least two hits. Wood is just stagnating, it seems.
Witty .sig goes here.

Wood passed up on the ol' depth chart?
Matt Brown
G-79 AB-327 R-65 H-108 HR-18 RBI-59 BB-25 SO-62 OBP-.381 SLG-.606 AVG-.330 OPS-.986
Brandon Wood
G-55 AB-228 R-42 H-58 HR-13 RBI-38 BB-18 SO-61 OBP-.317 SLG-.496 AVG-.254 OPS-.813
Both strike out a lot, but Brown’s OPS really stands out.
I swear, if one more person tells me to "work smarter, not harder"...

Brown has been good
The only thing is that he’s starting to get a little old for AAA: at 26 years old he SHOULD be raking in AAA…
Willits needs to play, every, single, freaking, day. Now.

Ooh yeah
26. That almost gives me hope that I can still make the team. No, Donnelly breaking in at 30 is what gives me hope.

what about chris coste on the phillies? hes a 36 year old rookie hitting at a great AVG
but ya, i think the point is that matt brown is more of a AAA stud/Backup while Wood is still a prospect.

I would worry more about S-Rod if I were B-Wood

Big Bat
Rodriguez has 14 hrs 35 rbis in 41 games.
Now where do we put him…....
Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.

You ever feel as if your mind had started to erode?

Are you saying...
Mike Scioscia is sending a message to the 2009&2010 Seattle Mariners by winning this game in this fashion?

Sandoval is doing too shabby, either...
