Mark Teixeira: An On-Base Machine

Mark Teixeira may not hit for an extremely high average, but he's going to increase run production by one or two runs a game. Come playoff time, that's crucial. He draws so many walks compared to the other guys, and he'll get his fair share of XBH since pitchers will have to  pitch to him. I can see the banner now: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim- 2008 World Series Champions! I just that rat Scott Boras isn't too demanding. I heard he wants 8 yrs, 160 mil.

You're saying our overall runs per game will increase by an entire point

due to Teixiera’s influence in the lineup?

Can you back that up with some fact?

All statistical measurements are hindsight...

...and most statistical forecasts may as well be labeled non-planetary astrology.

i'd be okay with a

7 year, $140 million deal.
i’d prefer just 6 years, but i’d b e cool with 7

Yankees will want a piece of him.

They’ll probably pay as much as it takes.

Briming with optimism

Seattle I would like to thank you for sucking. It allows me to get back to my roots: Hating Fremont.

It's a fact.

Optimism has nothing to do with it.

If you think the Yankees will just sit back and watch the best FA on the market

despite the fact that he plays a need position for them, you’re fooling yourself.

Give him the 10, 230 he's looking for

Why the hell not? We gave Vlad 5/70. Teixeira is worth $23 per. He’s still only 28. He’s entering his prime folks.

No. He's not.

Not when we have Morales comparatively for free over 6 of those years. 10 years means he’ll have been out of his prime for 5 years by the time his contract ends.

Geesh...

Vlad was 28 when he signed his contract too. I wouldn’t go over seven years and I’d prefer five or six. But, someone will offer seven…guaranteed.

Let’s not throw the entire treasure chest at the guy after 3 games.

I missed it

The 8 year 160. Got a link? If not that’s ok.

Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.

Go Angels!

now ten years...

here’s the source=widget&sport=MLB&id=3329&dst=roto|widget|Fantasy%20Sports%20News&source=roto|widget|Fantasy%20Sports%20News” >link

but i don’t think it’s true,it tends to be Scott Bora$’s strategy make it able to call the price higher; if that happens,do we have the money to do 10 years contract or we’ll follow the custom – not going to risk for such a big one?
