he's brought it on himself
asking for all the money in the world and he puts up a crap performance like that?
these guys aren’t above criticism, certainly not when we pay their huge salaries, and definitely not when they ask for more and claim to be in the same breath as Mariano Rivera.
load the spaceship with the rocket fuel... load it with the warriors...
oops.. meant to be a response to the below thread by Zu vvv
darn auto-refreshing thread
load the spaceship with the rocket fuel... load it with the warriors...
It's 1 night. there are 47 other nights where he got the job done.
If GA wasn't so lazy the Halos woulda won the 2008 WS by now.
he may have 47 saves...
but he’s hardly been as automatic as the stats show.
all I’m sayin is he’s been shaky for more than just one game (throughout the season)
load the spaceship with the rocket fuel... load it with the warriors...
Shaky? Yes.
Worthy of the scorn he draws from certain corners on this board? HELL no.
~Till the Halo burns out...
for the record
I think this is only the first time I’ve scorned him – more a build up of some recent craptastic closing and the whole sum of his poor attitude tonight + gimme gimme talk.
load the spaceship with the rocket fuel... load it with the warriors...
I believe he's beaten Rivera head to head twice.
Why shouldn’t he ask for the same money?
~Till the Halo burns out...
pls.
Rivera has been a better closer for quite a while longer.
besides, Angels own the Yanks.
load the spaceship with the rocket fuel... load it with the warriors...
WXRL?! what is that?
some sort of East Coast radio station?
stats shmats. Frankie still has a ways to go to be considered in the same category as Rivera no matter what the head-to-head etc. imo.
load the spaceship with the rocket fuel... load it with the warriors...
Yeah. Why should we listent to the objective stats?
Let’s just bitch at one of our best players for putting his heart on the field every night and hate him for asking for money that he absolutely deserves based on the fact that he’s outperformed EVERY OTHER CLOSER over the last four years.
~Till the Halo burns out...
hi Zu, I admire your tenacity.

He was safe
but the leadoff batter of the inning took a called third strike right down the middle of the plate that didn’t come close to missing in any one direction. And another strike earlier in the at-bat was called a ball.
Didn’t cost him the inning, but it hurt, and I think it’s what most of us are referring to.

Yeah, how dare he celebrate!
Lord knows that the other team won’t do the same thing if they hit something off him!
~Till the Halo burns out...
How come Michael Phelps screaming is cool but frankie screaming isn't?
If GA wasn't so lazy the Halos woulda won the 2008 WS by now.
Cause hes American
I wish GA wasn't so lazy, or he would take care of the GMJ Problem by himself

If it were Kotch... he hits it into the parking lot
If GA wasn't so lazy the Halos woulda won the 2008 WS by now.
And a car would blow up in the lot on impact
and the scorekeeper, being Michael Bay, would give us a million run win.
Take THAT, run differential.

They actually used to call it a "run-off" hit.
Until G.A. came along, and they had to rename it a walk-off.

There is no offer out of range for Tex right now
I wish GA wasn't so lazy, or he would take care of the GMJ Problem by himself
Can't stand this
Tex goes deep and all of a sudden Vlad, Torii and GA figure they can do the same without seeing a couple of pitches! That was bad.

i don't know what's more shocking to me....
the fact that our bullpen has given up a run (or more) each of last three innings, or that our offense has managed to respond EACH time

Attention whining bitch spoiled brat Frankie haters! Closers blow saves. Cy Young winners lose games, World Series MVPs strike out, All-stars have bad days, movie stars get paid millions to do nothing and K-Rod lays it out every time he goes out there. STFU!

agreed... really didn't like the boos at the stadium...
that’s befitting of Yank for Sox fans… not Halo fans.
Frankie deserved to be booed
if not for his terrible pitching, then for his baby attitude.
by Caseys Kiss of Death on Aug 13, 2008 10:05 PM PDT up reply actions
He turned and swore at him as he walked off the field
and he whined about the double-up on second base, too…when the umpire was right. His attitude today was not merely “I was right, Mr. Umpire,” it was more like “FUCK YOU UMP, YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT, DIE IN A FIRE!”
that’s being a baby.

Nice effort Olly
Now let’s win, cause otherwise we’re going to Speier and who knows how that’ll end.
True story: was at a car dealership earlier this week, and they mentioned Speier just bought his new car there the day before (a 911 Turbo Cab) and Matthews bought his Bentley there not too long ago. He paid full sticker.
I told the salesperson that they should focus on playing better instead ;-)
