Angels Waivers
Has anyone heard which players (if any) the Angels put through waivers? I'm kind of curious if they're thinking about making any changes or if any players cleared.
I read that Aubry Huff has cleared. Don't know what his salary is or what the Orioles would want for him, but he'd be an upgrade over Quinlan wouldn't he? Something like Quinlan and something for him (if the Orioles would even want Quinlan)?
I'm not saying the Angels need to make changes and I think they can win it all with the team they have, but better is better...if Huff is really better than Quinlan.

have you looked at huff's numbers this year??
i think the only reason hes on waivers is because the orioles are just seeing if anyone will heavily overpay for him because hes basically playing out of his mind this year.
So no, it would take a lot more than quinlan to get a guy who has 25 home runs, 80 RBIs and a .909 OPS. Those numbers are right around teixeira’s for the year

I'm not all that familiar with Huff's work...
But Quinny-Pop’s value is in versatility. I have never seen Huff play three positions, maybe he can but I don’t see it.

Neither very well at all.
Just owning a 1B and 3B glove is any reason to stick a guy there. We don’t need him.

Our team is the best in baseball, and just added one of the best hitters in baseball
we don’t need someone like Huff.
Basically Huff does one of three things if he comes here:
1) He dislodges our leadoff hitter and biggest stolen base threat at third base
2) He moves Teixeira to DH, which won’t happen since Teixeira is a gold glover and Huff is not
3) He goes to DH himself, and knocks one of our hottest hitters (and yearly second-half threat) out of the lineup, or into the outfield, where another clusterfuck situation happens.
So, no. I want nothing to do with him. Even for cheap. Our team is fine, and we don’t need him log-jamming the team or its chemistry.

this is one of the moves that
in theory, or on paper, would be great. he’s got really solid numbers this year, and you can never have enough good hitters, especially at DH.
but back in reality, there’s just no way that this works out.

yeah that's a bit much, i think
considering he’s having his biggest year since 2003 (career year) it would be a gamble, at best.
and, the guy can really only DH.

Thanks for the comments, but...
my main question was if anyone had heard of any Angels going through waivers. Out here in WI, we don’t get much news like that or have talk radio that covers the Halos.
The Huff question was basically filler. I agree, and I wrote, the team is good enough without him.
I was uncool before uncool was cool.

No, I haven't heard of anything.
Still holding out hope for GMJ being placed on waivers?

i dont think that makes a difference
he can just nix the trade to whatever team would claim him (if any actually would)
