In fact they have the digestive system of a carnivore. They are supposed to hunt small animals and eat them, but are too lazy, so they eat sticks instead. Sticks dont move, so they just prefer them.

Joe looks pretty weak today

Came in late, but got home just after the third. Big pitch counts, not a lot of command, doesn’t look like he’s getting especially squeezed.

Nice to strand Sizemore. The offense is hitting balls hard but at gloves.

by Rev Halofan on Aug 17, 2008 11:29 AM PDT reply actions

I know, but I'm talking overall accumulated innings

I remember last year, Saunders was almost always better with an extra day of rest between starts near the end of the season, so in principle this should help, also.

by TheOptimist on Aug 17, 2008 11:31 AM PDT up reply actions

You know, both Lackey and Weaver did this too.

Maybe it’s a function of the Indian’s hitting style where they foul off about a million pitches every AB, rather than a failing of our pitchers.

~Till the Halo burns out...

by Zu Long on Aug 17, 2008 11:31 AM PDT up reply actions

Interesting observations...

I think that this season he has always been able to make the pitch to get out of an inning. The AB that killed him was the HBP. Batter leaned out over the plate to get hit…that was on the umps. He gave it up on the next batter. IF hits and routine grounders are finding holes…agreed he may be a little tired, but he is not pitching badly!

Whodathunk we would be rooting for a former Ranger come August...?

by K3YEROUT on Aug 17, 2008 11:34 AM PDT up reply actions

Am I the only one who thinks it possible he just had a poor start?

If Joe doesn’t make 6 innings today it would be the first time since June.

They were mentioning the Angels binder promotion and it reminded me of a question to ask you guys:

I don’t have season tix, but I do get to about 15 or so games per season….and a lot of times it’s tickets I get through work connects or freebies. Anyway, a lot of times I seem to go when they’re giving cool stuff to kids only. I know i’m 27, but some of the stuff is just cool stuff i’d like to have, or even give to my niece and nephew. Any tips on how to get that stuff? I’ve never asked at the gate.

Whatever dude.
