Looking Like the Angels will almost certainly be evacuating Tampa after Monday Night's game, returning on Labor Day (9/1) to play a double header, coincidentally the day rosters expand and Salt Lake reinforcements can meet us there.
The storm track is estimated to turn in much further south in the Naples area and possibly miss Tampa Bay all together.

Bunch of wussies
In the old days, we would play baseball in driving hail, lightening storm, blizzard, and tornado (all at once).
Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.

& Uphill both ways
I’m sick of all the coddling players these days get!
Ooo, you have a blister let’s skip your next start
Ooo, your hammy’s a little tight let’s keep you on the bench
Ooo, don’t take steroids they’ll shrink your balls and turn you into a freak

Can't blame the players......
Society in general has created the soft American.
Example:
Can’t ride a bike without a helmet
Not allowed to ride in back of a pickup
God forbid you drink water from a hose

Are you suggesting that we should drink...like...
…ordinary tap water???
EWWWWWWWWW!!!
I am shocked and OUTRAGED!!!!
I am calling my lawyer… right after I am done with my therapist.
Crazy
Sorry your so outraged. Hard to believe us kids of the early 60-70’s had it so tough.
Maybe if I install a Brita filter on the hose you will be able to stomach such a thing????

Here are my thoughts in limerick form
There once was a storm named Fay
Who threatened the games with the Rays
Should she stay current course, postponement she’ll force
But I’m glad she didn’t travel my way

Haiku
If Fay hits Tampa
The Angels can not come home
Monkey gets lonely
If GA wasn't so lazy the Halos woulda won the 2008 WS by now.

If the Angels play on Sept 1st...
they’ll have to play 30 days before their next day off. Can they do that? Isn’t there something in the bargaining agreement that calls for a certain number of off days?
I was uncool before uncool was cool.
i don't think it's 30 days...
they only play on september 1st if they don’t play tuesday/wednesday…so they have games thursday august the 21st-sunday august 31st (11 days), and september 1st – september 14th (13 days), which gives 24 days.
i think you counted the 6 games from the cleveland/TB series, but it doesnt seem right to count the tuesday/wednesday games twice…
beat me to it
And the last 3 games of the run are against Seattle, so… you know, that’s like a few days off, too.
Hooters anyone?

10-7. Maybe give Frankie and Speier those days off.

You forgot about the 2 days off they'd get because of the storm.
They’d only have to play 24 straight.

because i was curious...
i looked up the bargaining agreement…
No Club shall be scheduled, or rescheduled if practicable, to
play more than 20 consecutive dates without an open day, or 21 consecutive
dates if necessary to accommodate the Hall of Fame Game.
A rained-out game may be rescheduled to an open date in the same
series, or to an open date at the end of the same series, if (a) the open
date is a road off-day for the visiting Club, and (b) the rescheduling
does not result in the home team playing more than 24 consecutive
dates without an open day, or 25 consecutive dates if necessary to
accommodate the Hall of Fame Game.
interestingly, this makes it sound like the consecutive dates only matters for the home team ….
We may not see those reinforcements right away,
given that they’ll probably be needed in the AAA playoffs.
~Till the Halo burns out...
Given our lead in the division, I think we may take second this time >_>;
All the High-A and Single-A guys will probably be free though, so maybe we’ll pull a double switch or something.
~Till the Halo burns out...
The big league team is never second
We are still competing for home field advantage through the playoffs. There is no way that you sacrifice the needs of the big league club so that the minor league teams can win meaningless titles.

Now they’re asking him about what’s going on with Spiers
Let no joyful voice be heard! Let no man look up at the sky with hope! And let this day be cursed by we who ready to wake... the K-Rod!
HaloVet landed in Orlando last night,
and is set to remain through Friday. He texts back that the weather is overcast with sprinkles, and a little humid, but nobody is taking any emergency precautions as of Sunday evening. The storm is set to reach the Orlando area on Wednesday.
Francisco Rodriguez: 193 career saves. 2 career Panthers, tied with Hector Carrasco.
