Sandy

for botg

Its all fun and games till Soth's warriors come to town.

by AnaheimHalos61 on Aug 22, 2008 10:05 PM PDT   0 recs

No death threats to others...

a few self induced death threats though. Do they count?

The game was a waste…bad pitching, no offense. The only positive was that it didn’t drag out long for a 9-0 game.

We're still healthy and our magic number lowered

BOTG, Saunders i suppose, not that he had any help

Hooters anyone?

by Chone's Chonies on Aug 22, 2008 10:08 PM PDT   0 recs

BOTG goes toooooooo

The Twins

Thats right what a bunch of idiots thinking they needed to score that many runs to win. They could have been out with the OC hoochies Rev spoke of much sooner. Wasted a bunch of runs for nothing.

Willie Mays Aikens is FREeeeeeeee

We always give the Panther to Hokie when he wins...

I guess we should give him the BOTG when he loses. I mean, it’s not like we can give it to the entire offense. Although I would like to

Write to the Angels front office. Get Tim Salmon's number 15 retired!

we really sucked tonight

but i totally got a free HH shirt!

thanks Juan Rivera!!!

oh yeah, thanks to cupie too!

by howiestheman on Aug 22, 2008 10:16 PM PDT   0 recs

oh yeah

my BOTG goes to Mathis and here’s my reasoning:

1) he went 0-3 with 2 Ks. again.

2) if he’s in there for his defense, it didn’t work… note the ball into center field in the 3rd inning. Luckily, HGH and Figgins bailed him outta that one.

3) Napoli gave up 1 run behind the plate last night. Mathis gave up 9 runs tonight (10 if you count the last run from last night). If we’re putting THAT MUCH stock in CERA… there ya go. I’ve said i before… our pitchers have been increasingly crappy with him behind the plate. I honestly think they respond better to Napoli.

take a look at the game day thread from yesterday

in the ninth, he said over/under .5 hits for us.
i said over.
he said that if we got 1 hit, then he’d send me a free HH shirt.
juan rivera hit a single.
i win free shirt.

Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

I still have the tank top one

by ladybug on Aug 23, 2008 2:16 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

this is my second one lol

i already have the white “ringer” shirt, so cupie’s sending me the red one!

BOTG HGH/Mathis

Positive = We got to see what Kendry would have done in last nights game when Stupid Scioscia took him out for a bunting S-Rod.

Riveras hit was a positive too.

Negatives We loose every game that either HGH or Speier play. Oh and Mathis is still a piece of crap with his bat and Defense.

Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by acuda27 on Aug 22, 2008 10:23 PM PDT   0 recs

agreed on the Kendry note

and Rivera actually had 2 hits.

i think i’m gonna start the “Send Mathis back to Salt Lake” campaign

Mathis for BOTG

Obama for blame of the year for handing the VP slot to Biden.

did he actually do it?

according to CNN he did

hahaha yes!

as long as McCain doesn’t do anything stupid, he’s in

Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

by howiestheman on Aug 22, 2008 10:34 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I wouldn't go that far

but I find it odd that he just picked the man who called him a “clean, articulate black man” as his V.P.

by Caseys Kiss of Death on Aug 22, 2008 10:52 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

it's all about "balancing the ticket"

Biden has some foreign affair experience, and he’s older with more time in politics.

but still, it was a stupid pick.

i’m all for McCain, if you couldn’t tell, so I’m pretty stoked about this.

Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

by howiestheman on Aug 22, 2008 11:05 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

It's a completely asinine pick

I’m an Obama man if you couldn’t tell, and I think this is really going to hurt him in the long run.

which is why i'm stoked! :)

but back to baseball… :P

Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

by howiestheman on Aug 22, 2008 11:26 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

i say "some" because i'm sure a lot of that is useless crap that was all for show

as most things in politics are.

and since Biden is from the left-side, i KNOW he doesn’t do a whole lot of good. ;)

Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

by howiestheman on Aug 22, 2008 11:48 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

as long as he chooses someone better than Biden

it’s game over.

i really don’t have an idea of who he’ll pick, but i doubt it’ll be Romney.

Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

There's a thread over at Lone Star Ball going about McSame right now.

There are over 500 comments and they are pretty hilarious coming from Texans.

by 44FAN on Aug 22, 2008 11:57 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

McSame? Seriously?

you do realize that he’s pretty moderate.. and kinda liberal, right?
there’s no way he’s as conservative as Bush has been (though i find myself torn about that)

Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

by howiestheman on Aug 23, 2008 12:05 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Moderate? Liberal?

Yeah, I guess on campaign finance, and pretty much nothing else.

by Caseys Kiss of Death on Aug 23, 2008 12:16 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

you're the one in the northeast right?

by now you’ve been brainwashed, i take it. :P

but seriously… you can’t admit that he’s one of the most moderate Republicans today?

Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

by howiestheman on Aug 23, 2008 12:23 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I went to school at Rutgers

But I live in Arcadia…David Drier’s district, if you want an idea of how my community leans.

McCain’s voting record is 88% in line with all other Republicans over his career, and he has a lifetime score of 82 (out of 100) from conservative focus groups for his voting record. If that’s the standard rate for moderate today, then…well, damn.

by Caseys Kiss of Death on Aug 23, 2008 12:39 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

For a point of comparison

That’s roughly as conservative a voting record for his career as John Kerry’s is liberal, and most people couldn’t stop talking about how absurdly liberal he was back in ’04.

by Caseys Kiss of Death on Aug 23, 2008 12:42 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

You know, it's funny

Our very own <a href="http://www.amazon.com/McCain-Myth-Maverick-Matt-Welch/dp/0230608051/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1219481030&sr=8-1>mattwelch has a book on that very subject.

It’s pretty well agreed by now that McCain isn’t the “maverick” he says he is—he’s actually pretty conservative.

This is what happens when two media darlings run against each other. Obama gets more flack for it simply because he’s the more recent of the two (remember coverage of McCain during the 2000 primary?).

i said it once, i'll say it again...

THE TWINS ARE GOOD. ANYONE WHO THINKS THIS TEAM IS BETTER THAN THE TWINS IS IGNORANT.

THE

TWINS

ARE

GOOD

EVEN IF WE WIN THE NEXT TWO GAMES 10-0….THE TWINS ARE GOOD.

i said it at the all-star break, i said it three weeks ago, i say it now…

FEAR THE TWINS.

they’re good.

are they any good?

Dont know,

I heard they beat the Angels which are pretty good and solid ball club.

they haz many goodz.

I think Shane Loux is going to work out good in the long run. He has grit.

I don’t really do BOTG, but if you were to twist my arm I would say Mathis for sucking tonight and many other nights lately. I have REALLY had enough of him throwing the ball over the second baseman’s head and into the outfield. GMJ does’nt even count anymore, he has no ability, so he has no potential to do any better than he is doing now. Hokie Joe has been too good all year to blame him for this one game.

by 44FAN on Aug 22, 2008 11:48 PM PDT   0 recs

that pretty much sums it up

it’s too hard to give it to the Colonel when the offense did NOTHING to help him.
i hate Mathis.
you’re right… you really can’t pick GMJ anymore. we know he’s going to suck. period.
i hate Mathis.
i think Loux probably will become a pretty solid middle reliever/mop up guy as well. he’s got some pretty good stuff, and from what i’ve heard, he fixed whatever mental stuff was wrong.
did i mention i hate Mathis?
