A.J. & Eddings: Secret Lovers?
You guys see this crap that went down today in the Rays/White Sox game? Seems Angels fans' favorite dastardly duo have struck again.
Hey Bud, if you're listening, please keep Doug Eddings away from any playoff series the Angels may be playing in the coming months. Especially if they're facing the White Sox and this cheating scumbag catcher.

I heard about the call on the radio
during Sunday’s game and thought, oh jeez, that A.J. just knows how to get things started.
Then I saw on SportsCenter that it was Eddings.
Witty .sig goes here.

I saw that on Sports Center tonight...
Seriously… WTF???
Those two have something going.
They better come to Cali quick, and make it formal while they still can.
I heard AJ and Dougy bought a condo in Palm Springs. They were holding hands in the dugout tunnel too.

I love the totally objective title, too
“Pierzynski’s great escape” and “Pierzynski avoids the run down.”
What a crock of shit.

Oh, yeah
Good, impartial commentating from the ChiSox booth guys. /sarcasm
Say what you want about Rex and Phyz, they almost always call a spade a spade…and they’ll tell you when the Angels get gifted.

It was TBS national
Warming up for the playoffs I guess.

i was wondering about that...
its TBS but its the ChiSox guys…they even refer to the White Sox as “us” in the clip of baldelli hitting a bomb.

I saw this yesterday when...
my 12 year old, knowing my “support” of one AJ whateverski, called me in when this happened. He had one of those curious “look familiar” grins on his face. Even he KNOWS somebody gotted jobbed by those two!

As much as I hate AJ and his cheating ass...
you have to give him props for knowing what the rules are, and how to cheat bend them in his favor. That, and the enfamous play with us, were very bush-league heads-up plays. Not too many players are cheap intelligent enough to come up with those plays at the spur of the moment.
That said, may he burn in hell.
Hooters anyone?

AJ will find a way to cheat the devil, so...
Why wait? Bring him here! Burn him now!!!! WAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

Enfamous
That means more than famous, and more than infamous.

Enfamous is a perfectly cromulent word, and embiggens the reputation of the user.

Panther!
You just won a place in my heart. Although I was actually sort of alluding to The Three Amigos, your Simpsons is good too.

Loved the Sportcenter montage of A.J.'s bullshit
Best thing I’ve seen on that channel in a long time.

I wish I had seen that. Think there's a video archived? I'm too lazy to look.

Hell Ya...
GA fan club is the shit. We never have to meet or organize anything really.
Somebody once tried to get us all to meet at a dive bar, but we didn’t want to upset Garret. If a dive isn’t good enough for him, its not good enough for us!

AJ reached out with his elbow
I hate that bastard…never mind, I hate both of them.

i hope we play chicago in the playoffs
and bring in Speier specifically to throw at AJ’s ugly face
by ihearhowie2.0 on Aug 25, 2008 12:32 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
With Speier's luck
the ball would bounce off of AJ’s face and go over the wall in straight away center. Doug Eddings would rule it a home run.
Ain't no stoppin' us now. We got the groove!

Eddings is the issue
competent umpires wouldn’t fall for Pierzynski’s bullsh!t. WTF is this moron Eddings doing still umpiring MLB games? It makes entirely too much sense for MLB to hold him out of any postseason series so I expect to see him in position to botch more critical calls this October…
by LUVtheLAA on Aug 25, 2008 1:03 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Exactly! Don't blame AJ, he was trying to win the game.
That ump needs to be demoted
Hooters anyone?
by Chone's Chonies on Aug 25, 2008 1:08 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
One can still blame AJ
Just because AJ’s found an idiot official who will fall for his stunts doesn’t get him off the hook for pulling the stunt in the first place.
by TheTypingFiend on Aug 25, 2008 1:49 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
My point is that AJ is smart enough to try it
unfortunately, stupid umps fall for such bush league attempts sometimes
Hooters anyone?
by Chone's Chonies on Aug 25, 2008 2:05 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Smart?
Or completely lacking respect for the kid’s game that he gets paid very very well to play?
by ReggieBullits on Aug 25, 2008 2:23 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Smart to think to do it in such a split second situation
it’s worth a try, and it won his team a valuable game. I’d say it’s smart.
Hooters anyone?
by Chone's Chonies on Aug 25, 2008 2:29 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
The issue isn't if he's smart or not.
The issue is that he cheats and uses his knowledge of the rules to defend himself.
by TheTypingFiend on Aug 25, 2008 4:55 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I think it was smart, he would have been out otherwise. Why not go for it and see if the referee rules in your favor. He had nothing to lose.
Smart lawyers do it in courtrooms every day.

Criminals do it every day too.
Why not just drive off without paying for the gas and see what happens?
by ReggieBullits on Aug 25, 2008 6:50 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Well lets idolize criminals & lawyers!
That’s just what society needs!
Mom I’m going to study hard and learn how to get free gas.
It’ll be easy, just you see.
I’ll be able to drive forever, for FREE!!!!!

Wouldn’t that be so much more fun? Heck, I’ll call him that anyway.

How does he sell these calls?
Yes, he is smart, always pushing the envelope. With Eddings on the other end of the call, though, that is a bit suspicious.
