Big John owns the A's
Hey you! What are horse mackerel!
Hey, the chair are sailing! You believe that I am toad of the month!
(Yes, that is K-Rod's entry music, translated)

It's gotta be Lackey.
He sounds like Kermit the Frog and Bill Gates’ love child

Lackster
Doin’ what a number 1 starter is suppose to do.

Big John all the way
the bats were alright
My curse on the angels: I have been to 3 of his 5 blown saves, I was at the no-hitter for weaver, and I was there when Maicer had a season ending injury.
I am one LUCKY fan

It's not even fair for the A's to play against Lackey
Torii Hunter is also a tough dude.

I had visions
of Kotchman’s concussion when that ball hit Torii

Ditto
In the post game interview Lackey said they were raggin on Reggie because he had to come out of the game “for way less then that”. Haha.

great to see at the ballpark
the transplant Green Weenies have clearly given up on this season. i saw hardly any green uni’s in the stands tonight, and not a peep from them (not that they had anything to cheer about, really).

Fun Night
at the Big A, that’s for sure. I was surprised at how few people were in attendance; under 38,000. Indeed, the Oakland fans probably stayed home.
Lackey sure was dominant; I can only recall one 3-ball count all night, though there might have been a couple more.
The only disappointment, if you can call it that, is that Lackey decided to throw a fastball to Cust when he was down 0-2. At that point, he should be getting a steady diet of curves.

Correction
Not that I want to take points away from myself, but per my scorecard, Teixeira only reached safely once, on a 3rd inning single. He also reached via fielders’ choice in the 8th, but that doesn’t count as reaching safely (hit, walk, HBP – same things that go into OBP). A fielders’ choice is an out.

Let's keep the Office of the Border Patrol out of this.
I want my Tex.
Francisco Rodriguez: 196 career saves. 3 career Panthers, 1/3 as awesome as GMJ.

Hm...
That may be true… But I’ve kept this stance before in previous games and I’m just going to keep it rolling, so that it stays constant (and to avoid remembering wrongly in the future)
I’ve basically had in mind that: “reaching safely” means that they got on base someway somehow…
If Rev agrees with your stance, I will change it, but that’s the scorer’s decision :)
I absolutely do appreciate the note though, thanks! Glad to see people keeping tabs on me!

A buddy at work
sent it to me.
Yeah, it’s a picture of Lackey from the Capillo head-hunting Vladdy incident against the Mariners last year. Pretty funny. Big John seemed to take it personally when Campillo made repeated pitches for their franchise players’ head. I like that.
All the guys on the Mariners are like “Oh shit! Hold him back!” BAA!

that's beautiful
the best part about that (that’s not pictured) is Campillo backing up when Vlad walked out, then backing up way more when Lackey came out.

Do you have a hi-res version? Email it to me? Please?

I don't think
that the original is much bigger, but let me see if I can upload it to Image-Shack or someting and then I’ll post the URL here.
