Need a little help with work
I have a tough life -
I work for the OC Register and tonight's assignment is to go report on Beach Pit BBQ, which the NY Times said was the best place to eat at Angel Stadium.
Anyway, I'm going to try it tonight and talk to people - But before I did that, I wanted to get some of my fellow HHer's opinions.
If you have any opinion, please shoot me a PM -
please include your full name and city you live in.
Thanks

my uncle is a member of the hp police dept.
i went on a ride along with him a couple years ago. saw some interesting stuff. you must be the only non-illegal resident in town. that place sure has changed since its ‘grease’ days…

No Joke!
I was working in Vernon during the 1998 world cup for soccer. I drove through Huntington Park going to/from work. I don’t believe there were that many Mexico flags south of the border! There was a near riot after Mexico lost that year.
BTW, I went to college in Montana (MSU). Where do you live in North Dakota, and how did you become an Angel fan?

In HP I got all the beauty of Mexico PLUS the protection of the US Constitution, In-n-Out Burger and Magic Johnsons Starbucks!

I take it you have yet to hear the name "John Yoo"?

i live in grand forks...
my dad was born in raised in long beach, and most of my family still lives out there. i was raised an angel fan in twins territory.
i was also under the impression that no one would actually choose to live in hp. i guess i was wrong…

Wasn't it Grand Forks that was virtually destroyed 8-10 yeras ago by floods, then fire?
Can’t remember for sure. If accurate, about the only “events” we could add are riots and earthquakes!
Glad to know Halo Heaven extends to “the Peace Garden State”.

my family’s bar burned in the fire and our house was flooded.

Jeez...
Glad to hear it was ONLY the barn.
I LOVE the Angels, but I have a lot of respect for the Twins. I went to the game a week ago Saturday (Garland v Blackburn). The Twins are a lot like the Angels…strong pitching, competent offense, great team speed…and this was suppose to be a re-building year!
The Twins organization produces a lot of quality ballplayers. They will be a tough opponent for any other playoff team.

Beach Pit BBQ
Just some thoughts from a long time season ticket holder:
Lines are too long
Attendends are very friendly
Wait for food once ordered is short
Food is a little too messy to eat at your seat
Price is a little high for what you get
BBQ sauce is good and sweet
I Eat there about every 3 visits to the park
Hooters was MUCH better

A Godsend
at the park, as far as I’m concerned. There’s never been a wait the two times I’ve gone. It took the the longest time to find where it was, and as it turns out, there are two stations: one way up high in RF, the other down on the field level behind section 134. The latter one also has Samuel Adams on tap, which is probably the best beer choice in the stadium now that the guy behind sections 239-240 no longer has Sierra Nevada.
I’ve tried both the brisket & pork sandwiches; I prefer the pork. Definitely get the sweet potato fries; one order can be shared by two.

Dude, you are my hero.
Settles for Sam Adams as a replacement for Sierra Nevada. Well played, sir, well played.

Tried it yesterday during the Ranger Game
I agree with Rev…waaay too salty. The BBQ in Arlington is much much better…and the best, imho, is Boog’s in Camden. They also serve a mean bbq beans and slaw.
