Conger Catching Again

The biggest news out of Rancho Cucamonga is Mike Napoli rehabbing with the Quakes - but a check of the boxscore at the link above shows him as DH. Über-Prospect Hank Conger has recovered from surgery enough to get behind the dish.

Monday Night is Quakes Day at the Big A - Selected RC Quakes will be signing under the helmets from 6 - 6:30 PM.

I was at the game...

and Conger looked good behind the dish. His warm-up tosses to second were, with one exception, flat-out intimidating, and no one on the Lancaster squad tried running on him. He looked a little more comfortable hitting against right-handed Lancaster relievers – rather than their lefty starter – but made hard contact in most every at-bat. Napoli stole the show though when he hit what must of been a four hundred and fifty foot bomb out of the stadium and onto the roof of the building across the street, only to have it called foul.
