Mark Teixeira
After years off listening to bad country, rap, and some sort of hybrid salsa music that the players walk up to the plate/mound too... finally we had some quality music. Mark Teixeira walks to plate to Twisted Sisters "We're Not Gonna Take It". The joy that filled my heart was enormous. Mark's playing of Twisted Sister has officially made him my favorite Angel. Rev, i would like to adjust some of my votes for the top 100 Angels.
If you were a Halo, what song would you play when coming up too bat or too pitch?
Mine, Mountain Song by Janes Addiction.

Nevertheless, I agree with your sentiment. It was a kickass moment in stadium history. Teixeira rules.

I was stoked upon hearing Teixiera's entrance music. I did a little headbanging, although it was half ironic, half sincere.
Either way, it kicked ass.

too hard to pick just one - i'd maybe have a rotation
but I think in our USA-lovin’ OC, I’d have to think this would be a winner:
Hulk Hogan Theme – Real American :
rather than coming out of the dugout, I’d come down the aisles of the stands, high fiving all the little Hulksters who took their vitamins that morning, then on the top of the dugout, put my hand up to my right ear while leaning to the foul pole in left, then put my left hand up to my left ear while leaning towards the other dugout, ripping my warm-up down the middle, giving a couple flexes of the 24 inch pythons – jumping down to the field level and walking around the on deck circle briskly a few times whilst clapping my hands vigorously before picking up my bat and charging to the batters box, gritting my teeth and screaming “WHAT CHOO GONNA DOOOOO?” to the pitcher as I wait to run wild on him…
no, I’ve never thought of this before.

I know I don't. Sorry man.
They were never that original to me. I basically grew up at Greene Records, but i’m about 5 years older than those dudes. When they came along, I was like “Wait, this mall metal?”
That was in Identity Crisis era…right after they decided to stop being really wussy, and bought early Converge records.
Next one was a mall metal template….mixed with an obvious infatuation with Refused.

never original?!
go listen to The Alchemy Index, Vol. 1-4 and tell me that again.
better yet, just research it; you don’t even have to listen to it.
i would honestly check it out though. amazing stuff. far removed from the Identity Crisis era, which was very cookie-cutter.

I have listened to some of the alchemy index stuff...at least the first one. I think that whole concept is pretty blowhardish, by the way.
Basically, I just don’t listen to stuff like that anymore…not since about 99. I still listen to SOME hardcore type stuff, but it’s more stoner meta(Big Business, Boris) and/or more punk shit, like The Bronx, Das Oath or 400 Blows.
Other than that, I listen to straight up rock and roll. Mostly from the 90’s or 80’s. Last CD I bought was Mudhoney’s Superfuzz Bigmuff 20th anniversary edition.
I can see how they’re ambitious, and good song writers, but…actually, while I was writing this, I opened a tab to go to their myspace page. The first song I heard sounded identical to Alice and Chains(a band I love). Once again though, if I want something that sounds like something else, I stick with the original.
Whatever dude.

I thought about it more, and it is cool that they're growing up. They're making logical progressions, and you can tell they're influences are probably a lot better.
Most bands that came around at that time that sounded similar are still doing the exact same thing.

yeah, and that gets really iritating.
they’ve said in numerous interviews that they didn’t want to keep “making the same record”, meaning they’re trying to do something different and mature with each new record.
take a look at some of the lyrics throughout the Index. Better yet, take a look at the sonnets (the last song on each Volume)... you can really see a difference.

On second thought... I think I'd have them play Tammy Wynette's classic
Sometimes its hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You’ll have bad times
And he’ll have good times
Doing things that you don’t understand
But if you love him you’ll forgive him
Even though he’s hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh be proud of him
‘Cause after all he’s just a man
Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And tell the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man

It was a tough call...
But in the end, I had to go with GG Allin’s “Outlaw Scumfuc”. I thought about “Kill the Children, Save the Food”, but obviously there is a lot more familiarity associated with the former, and well, if it appeases the crowd, it can only help. Am I right?

i'll be honest...
i don’t like “head-banging music”
but if i were to come to the mound/plate i’d go for “it ain’t no fun if the homey’s can’t have none” by snoop. i’m not even a big rap guy, but its (close to the) LBC, and it pumps me up. that or some new kanye. rap music gets me fired up, if you couldn’t tell by now.
while i love classic rock (aka E.L.O, The Who, Yes), rap is my shit for winning athletic matches. a tribe called quest is always welcome in this house.
