Mark Teixeira
After years off listening to bad country, rap, and some sort of hybrid salsa music that the players walk up to the plate/mound too... finally we had some quality music. Mark Teixeira walks to plate to Twisted Sisters "We're Not Gonna Take It". The joy that filled my heart was enormous. Mark's playing of Twisted Sister has officially made him my favorite Angel. Rev, i would like to adjust some of my votes for the top 100 Angels.
If you were a Halo, what song would you play when coming up too bat or too pitch?
Mine, Mountain Song by Janes Addiction.

Actually cupie
It was “I Wanna Rock”
Nevertheless, I agree with your sentiment. It was a kickass moment in stadium history. Teixeira rules.

too hard to pick just one - i'd maybe have a rotation
but I think in our USA-lovin’ OC, I’d have to think this would be a winner:
Hulk Hogan Theme – Real American :
rather than coming out of the dugout, I’d come down the aisles of the stands, high fiving all the little Hulksters who took their vitamins that morning, then on the top of the dugout, put my hand up to my right ear while leaning to the foul pole in left, then put my left hand up to my left ear while leaning towards the other dugout, ripping my warm-up down the middle, giving a couple flexes of the 24 inch pythons – jumping down to the field level and walking around the on deck circle briskly a few times whilst clapping my hands vigorously before picking up my bat and charging to the batters box, gritting my teeth and screaming “WHAT CHOO GONNA DOOOOO?” to the pitcher as I wait to run wild on him…
no, I’ve never thought of this before.

I know I don't. Sorry man.
They were never that original to me. I basically grew up at Greene Records, but i’m about 5 years older than those dudes. When they came along, I was like “Wait, this mall metal?”
That was in Identity Crisis era…right after they decided to stop being really wussy, and bought early Converge records.
Next one was a mall metal template….mixed with an obvious infatuation with Refused.
Whatever dude.

Oh, and I love Converge and Refused.

by Mayheminthehood on Aug 5, 2008 10:34 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
never original?!
go listen to The Alchemy Index, Vol. 1-4 and tell me that again.
better yet, just research it; you don’t even have to listen to it.
i would honestly check it out though. amazing stuff. far removed from the Identity Crisis era, which was very cookie-cutter.
Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.
by howiestheman on Aug 5, 2008 10:59 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I have listened to some of the alchemy index stuff...at least the first one. I think that whole concept is pretty blowhardish, by the way.
Basically, I just don’t listen to stuff like that anymore…not since about 99. I still listen to SOME hardcore type stuff, but it’s more stoner meta(Big Business, Boris) and/or more punk shit, like The Bronx, Das Oath or 400 Blows.
Other than that, I listen to straight up rock and roll. Mostly from the 90’s or 80’s. Last CD I bought was Mudhoney’s Superfuzz Bigmuff 20th anniversary edition.
I can see how they’re ambitious, and good song writers, but…actually, while I was writing this, I opened a tab to go to their myspace page. The first song I heard sounded identical to Alice and Chains(a band I love). Once again though, if I want something that sounds like something else, I stick with the original.
Whatever dude.
by Mayheminthehood on Aug 5, 2008 11:40 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I am checking it out though, and I admit, it IS very far removed from their first two full lengths.
Whatever dude.
by Mayheminthehood on Aug 5, 2008 11:44 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
to each his own, I guess
but yes, it’s VERY far removed.
I’m a huge fan, and even I didn’t like their first stuff.
too immature, to be blatantly honest.

I thought about it more, and it is cool that they're growing up. They're making logical progressions, and you can tell they're influences are probably a lot better.
Most bands that came around at that time that sounded similar are still doing the exact same thing.
Whatever dude.
by Mayheminthehood on Aug 6, 2008 9:37 AM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
yeah, and that gets really iritating.
they’ve said in numerous interviews that they didn’t want to keep “making the same record”, meaning they’re trying to do something different and mature with each new record.
take a look at some of the lyrics throughout the Index. Better yet, take a look at the sonnets (the last song on each Volume)... you can really see a difference.
Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

On second thought... I think I'd have them play Tammy Wynette's classic
Sometimes its hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You’ll have bad times
And he’ll have good times
Doing things that you don’t understand
But if you love him you’ll forgive him
Even though he’s hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh be proud of him
‘Cause after all he’s just a man
Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And tell the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man

Man In The Box
by Alice in Chains. I always thought that’d be a tight song for a closer to use.

I would want to scare the pitcher or something or at least throw him off his game,
maybe with like a little nsync or backstreet boys. imagine the pitcher, it would really mess him up. or maybe some screamo or something to frighten him

Then any soundtrack from any recent slasher flick would do the trick.
Francisco Rodriguez: 191 career saves. 2 career Panthers, tied with Hector Carrasco.

I would use star wars' Darth Vader intro
I remember Jay Buhner would use it when he came to the plate. I thought that was cool.

At 6:37pm on Wednesday evening
while Steve and Rory were doing the pregame, in the background at the Stadium I could hear my music. It’s already on their playlist!!
As interesting (to me), they were reading an email they had just received from a teacher sitting in his car listening to the pre-game, checking test papers. The teacher was parked at Roverside Park, which is a block away form teh rental property I just purchased, un in the town of Lompoc, 45 miles north of Santa Barbara! As I have said, 830AM CAN be heard up there!

I'd want "Fallen Hero" by Funker Vogt
But since that’s too obscure to be meaningful, I’d like the instrumental portion of “How Soon Is Now” by the Smiths.
I think Figgy’s walkup should be “Angel” by Shaggy and Rayvon…
“Shorty, you’re my Angel…”
"I've got more action than my man John Woo
And I've got mad hits like I was Rod Carew" - Shure Shot, The Beastie Boys

"Sci-Flyer" by Swervedriver
I like the angle of trying to mess with the opposing pitcher’s mind, though. If a new pitcher’s coming in, and he’s warming up while seeing those Monkey Eyes on the screen behind home plate, I’d love to hear something random like “For Your Eyes Only” by Sheena Easton.
