Torii Hunter said he had no interest in predicting what might happen in New York should the Yankees miss the playoffs.
"The Yankees? Who cares?" Hunter said. "That ain't my side of town.

Love It
Love that he doesn’t take the bullshit assumption of the writer that a discussion of the Yankees is what one can discuss with anyone in baseball.

Torri
I know they TALK about bringing in people who are both good and have great charachter. Then once in a great while some team actually finds/gets one of those guys.
Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.

It is refreshing to get a player who is willing to run his mouth on a regular basis.
You don’t have to read between the lines much with Torii like you do with other players/ managers when trying to glean information about the team.

It's even more refreshing when the player running his mouth,
has a credible degree of insight, passion, humor, respect, and obvious team loyalty… I have loved him as a player for years now and it still hasn’t hit me yet that arguably my favorite player is on my favorite team!!!
