Wacky - Ned Yost of the Brewers, Fired
Ned Yost, of the Brewers, just got fired. Totally bizzare. Yet, i love it. It is like managing your fantasy team. If you are un-happy just put them on the bench or just plain fire them. Is the GM of the Brewers Lou Lamoriello? Is Larry Robinson going to manage the Brewers for the last two weeks? I can't wait for John Kruks's and Barry Melrose's take on this move.

Hey you! What are horse mackerel!
Hey, the chair are sailing! You believe that I am toad of the month!

Barry Melrose's mullet's take:
There’s a reason he got fired this late in the season. The Brewers became a winning team in spite of Yost and not because of him. Probably a good move.

why the heck
is barry melrose (now the coach of the lightning) commenting on baseball?

No matter if they were winning in spite of him or not,
you dont want a new manager heading into the last 2 weeks of the season.

Now THAT is some serious moxie.
If that works out for them, I will be totally impressed. Of course, if they do anything except win the WS, the reason will be that they fired their manager when they did.
I don’t think they did this because they are simply that stupid, so I gotta give them credit for going bold instead of letting their team continue to slide towards going home…

based on the massive collapse last year (only trumped by the mets)
and the way this Sept was shaking out for the Brewers……it could be a smart move……..but it is after all….the Brewers….maybe the NL Karma gods are punishing them (and Bud Selig) for trying to sneak into the playoffs…….everyone knows they are still an AL team…….

The only issue is the timing
Ned should have been fired 11 months ago. His in-game decisions this season haven’t been any better than last season. He did a decent job with the Brewers when they were absolutely horrid, but he doesn’t appear to be cut out for managing a team that should be in contention.
Doug Melvin (GM) and Mark A (Owner) pulled out all the stops to win This Year (e.g. the Sabathia trade) since they’ve got a rapidly-closing window of (relatively) inexpensive talent. The firing now is another gamble, but they couldn’t leave Yost in charge.
Having watched both teams all year, it REALLY makes me appreciate Scioscia.

I see that all the time
Watching the Cubs, or Dodger, or just about any team … I expect the players should at least look like they’re thinking of going first to third on a single, especially the faster guys, but it surprises me how infrequently guys take the extra base. Lots of little stuff like that.
Witty .sig goes here.

It's always a shock when I watch other teams (or, say, the All-Star Game) and I see people NOT going first to third.

That takes some big, brass balls to pull the trigger on
hope it works out for them.
