Around SBN: Reflections on the Best Blazers Month In Forever Bar-right-arrows

Player Health Update

Figgins - Just a Bruise, Back on the Field by Monday

Guerrero - Knee not barking, Back in the lineup by Sunday at the latest

Kendrick - Hammy mellow, Spot appearance by Tuesday

Rivera - Flexor flexin, Back in the lineup by Sunday at the latest

And as Angels trainer Ned Bergert told Kevin Baxter of the L.A. Times:

"Any extra rest a player can get now won't just heal the bumps and bruises that sent them to the sidelines, Bergert suggested. It might lessen the fatigue brought on by a long season as well."

Excellent

I’d love to see Vlad run without gritting his teeth for once.

The DH role says hello

I believe they keep him off of the field during the playoffs, keeping his big bat in the lineup, but his bad knees off of the outfield grass

i pledge alliegance... to mike Scioscia
and the angels way of baseball
and to each pennant and ring we are sure to win.

definitely in the trop

Ga in left, torii in center, Juan in Right and Vlad at DH

Exceeding expectations is less a matter of luck than possession of certain assets.

Assuming this is accurate AND we start the playoffs mostly healthy,

what a difference this will be from 2004, 2005, and 2007. It also looks like GA is warming up at the right time. Give a lot of credit to Scioscia for managing the line-up so well.

I'll believe it all when I see it...

I still think that there is as good a chance we see B-Wood and S-Rod on the ALDS roster as it is we see Figgy and Kendrick. Figgins can’t throw – he said as much in the LA Times article referenced above. Now, if Figgy moves to 2nd base with Wood going to 3rd and Aybar to 2nd that might work, but where does Howie go?

Anyway, this health thing you speak of is far from a guarantee, but I’d love to see this team fully healthy for the playoffs.

From my lips….

to my ears.

If not for backup, (or first up),

then for experience.

I still think that there is as good a chance we see B-Wood and S-Rod on the ALDS roster as it is we see Figgy and Kendrick.

Your scenario above has 2 playing 2B...

I think you meant Aybar at SS? That’s not a bad line-up in the event Howie cannot play.

Full health is darn near impossible at this time of the year. All things considered, there has been time to rest and time to get the Bee’s some valuable playing time at ML level.
Further – as the Rev pointed out in another post – our potential opponents have the same problems without benefit of having already clinched their division.

Welcome!

I followed from the start of this season, but did not start posting until about 2 months ago. There are a lot of amazing contributors to the site, and the Rev does a good job keeping the inmates in line (mostly).
