UK Chapter playoff meetup
OK I don't have any details yet, and nor do I know the date. But the time is here for the first full-on meet-up and playoff celebration of the UK Chapter of Halos Heaven.
Mind you, I am crap at organising things, but if you are interested in watching either Game 1 or Game 2 of the playoffs (depending on the date) in London at the Sports Cafe, we shall all have a good time. Turn up geared up and geeked up please.
That means you .... The Limey, Matt UK, Amy Angel, UK Halo, Liam The Wanker Who Hasn't Gotten A Halos Heaven Account Yet, me, and significant others.... and whoever else wants to come along?
Is it best if it's a weekend game for Central London?
This Fan-Post is authored by an independent fan. Tell us what you think and how you feel.

I have actually been to the Sports Cafe in London.
Believe it or not, North Dakotans get out every once in a while.

This could be the smallest HalosHeaven thread
that there ever was.

But its the little threads that could
That make the big time.
Driven into right-center field, Erstad says he has it...the Angels, world champions!

I'll drop you an e-mail this morning...
…good for the 1st, 2nd-5th can’t do. Should be good for any subsequent series…
Geared up, yes, but don’t expect a Mayhem-esque display. London isn’t ready for it.

I have a lot of problems with the brits
Did the Boston Celtics migrate from Scotland or Ireland?
Why did the Anglophone and Saxophone players beat up on that nice family guy Braveheart Celtic guy? That was totally uncalled for.
And I’m pretty sure Welsh isn’t really a word.
Stonehenge? Yea, what an archeological wonder. A bunch of rocks in a circle.
Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.

A lot of problems with the Brits...
…or just a long-standing grievance with your high school history / geography teacher?

Sorry
When I was young there was no high school. If you wanted to learn something you had to follow a smart person around. Couldn’t find any.

And on the off-chance we get any further...
For the ALCS, fingers crossed, I can do either the 10th or 11th (but probably not both) before I go to Australia, so games 1or 2.
For the WS, I will be back in time for games 6&7, if we get that far, and the series goes that long. Having said that, if this happens I’ll be looking to rearrange my flight back from Sydney via California and throwing a load of cash I don’t really have at ANYONE who can find me a ticket.
For all games in between – they will be breakfast time games for me – I’ll either be blogging by the pool in Brisbane, while trying to find US sports on Australian TV, or cursing our continued play-off misfortune and turning the baseball bit of my brain off for the Winter.

Have fun boys
Are you going to be watching at 5 AM or something?
The Angels may have beat them 8 times in a row, but winning three before they do is all that matters.

8 hour time difference...
…from PCT to BST (British Summer Time – there’s a contradiction in terms if ever you’ve heard one).
7pm start in Anaheim is a 3am start here – hopefully they’ll push the games a little earlier for TV. It’ll be easier to catch the East coast games at +5hrs, which will start at midnight for us. Road trips always work out better if you want to catch a game on TV here.
When I get out to Australia that’s + another 9 hours so the games will start at midday, which will be perfect, just so long as we get that far.

Australia would work out perfectly.
Thanks for the explanation.

most of the games will have ET starting times
Since the Angels will be hosting the sux in the first round. You will get the earlier starting times for most, if not all, the games.

Generally they were 8:35 EST last year I believe.

Yup
The games will probably end around 5am. Nothing a load of cocaine and a few hookers can’t solve (just kidding)

I was just over there a couple weeks ago
I got stuck in Paris due to the Chunnel fire, and never made it back to London. Alas. I would have loved to meet up with some baseball fans. I had to watch cricket. Cricket!

"Stuck" in Paris
That’s funny.

I'll admit, there are worse places to be stuck. Like rural WI.

I had a similar comment to Mrs. red floyd
Last week, when our car broke down in San Diego (La Jolla, specifically).
I told her that there were many worse places to be “stranded”.

Are you still mad about the toothbrush comment?

:)
No. All is forgiven. (That is, after I started practicing good oral hygiene.)

There isn't a worse place on earth to be stranded than Paris...
…have you actually met any Parisians? Or the French in general.
There’s a reason we’ve spent most of the last millenium at war with them.
The truce is just a blip. It will pass.gb

Cricket is sooooo boring
Although I’ll defer to my mate The Limey, who actually likes cricket.

Well, it had
Bats, balls, minimal running, and teatime. 3 out of 4 wasn’t bad.
