At best they consider Mathis an equal.

While Napoli has gotten more playing time lately, that has more to do with the Mathis slump rather than a recognition that Napoli is the superior player.

1 or 2 days off can go a long way top keeping a guy fresh.

Howie hadn’t played that much but also hadn’t seen a day off from when he came back before he went down.

You have a good point though about my way requiring a third catcher.

If Mathis were to come out and Naps was DHing. If Naps changes to C, we lose the DH forcing the pitcher to bat. Good point. I hadn’t thought of that.
