Got it straight up

Naps for POTG, with runner up to Hokie Joe!

I'd say CoPanthers.

I mean, the Colonel went 6 innings and shutout a lineup that beat the snot out of Lackey and Santana.

I think that's the best way to go about it

The both of them were phenomenal tonight

I might still go with Saunders.

The Colonel put the boot down after Santana and Lackey got lit up on back to back nights.

Gotta go with Joe

9 strikeouts in 6 innings. He was throwing kidney stones out there!

Hooters anyone?

Good point.

He was coming off his Kidney stone thing too.

“we’ve up” was a typo of mine.

Maybe you thought Weaver was up in the 'pen?

But, no, it was Jon Garland throwing a BP session.

NAPPY DOOOO!!!!

great game for BOTH Napoli and Hokie Joe.

Saunders won the most game for us in 2008. Who would’ve thought?!

Kotch would've had that.

More impressive...

…than 100 wins is that 50 of them were on the road. That’s impressive.

What a great season! Let’s keep it going.

How often can a playoff team say that?

It was an 'Only one October commercial'.

Basically Torii Hunter was narrating as he went through the way the Angels play games. It was AWESOME.

all i could think about at the end of the game was

What must have Teix been thinking? I mean, If he hadnt been traded to the braves in the first place, then he would likely be sitting in the Texas dugout right now and his season over. I bet that Teix just said to himself, “I am never playing on a terrible team ever again” which would be awesome because that would mean that the Yanks wouldnt be that high up on his list considering the AL East. The angels are virtually guaranteed to win the AL west the next few yaers (knock on wood)
AND CONGRATS ON THE 100! BRING ON THE SUX!

Exceeding expectations is less a matter of luck than possession of certain assets.

Hard to not go with Napoli for POTG.

But I don’t see how the Colonel can be passed over. He held a high powered offense, the same offense our 1 and 2 starters couldn’t contain, scoreless for six innings. Pitched a helluva game and had career high in K’s. So there it is, my final Panther vote of the 08 season, Hokie Joe Saunders.

YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....

my favorite section

My curse on the angels: I have been to 3 of his 5 blown saves, I was at the no-hitter for weaver, and I was there when Maicer had a season ending injury.

Nipples are so hott right now!

I’m glad he helped get the Colonel through what some expected to be a tough start.

Makes me wonder if Unbuttons wasn’t there helping Papa Joe through the stone passing ordeal.

Lot's of Milestones & Records This Season....

Congrats to the Halos. Now TRADE THEM IN FOR A WORLD SERIES WIN ! ! !

When I'm not at the stadium, I'd rather be watching my Halos back in Costa Rica!

Not Really...Great Things Still To Come

But you and I have heard it a thousand times from the players. “I Would Rather Trade (Fill In The Blank From The Numerous Accomplishments This Season)…..For a World Series Ring”.

I'm new here

Sorry for the n00b question but how did the name “Panther” come about in describing the player of the game?

Anyways, I think Napoli and Saunders deserve Co-Panther honors. Napoli was great no doubt but Saunders deserves credit for coming back from a Kidney stone and pitching 6 lights out innings, especially after the final tune-up starts for Lackey and Santana went awry. Saunders stepped up.

Welcome aboard and you're probably right about Hokie Joe

But your screen name is going to make me want a Cheeseburger every time I see it. As for the lore of the panther, go to the sidebar on the website and read down.

GO HALOS!

Don't call me Desmond

Oh grasshopper...

Go back to main page, left column…scroll down to “Why Panther?”. Read the rules, then click on the hyperllink at the end of the rules for “The lore of the panther”…and you shall have your answer.

There will never be co-panthers. THAT will be explained in lesson #2.

Just an observation

The rotation has 5 of the top 6 PoTG rankings. Torii is the other one.

Angels fan since '67

by red floyd on Sep 28, 2008 7:17 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What do you call Torii, then?

According to the sidebar, he’s got 9.

Angels fan since '67

by red floyd on Sep 29, 2008 6:59 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

But otherwise,

My original observation no longer stands, as Napoli has passed Garland and Weaver.

So the rotation is all in the top 9. Other five are Torii (9), Naps(6), GA(5), Vlad(5).
