Open letter to the Chowds

Enjoy your brief stay in the playoffs this year because it is not going to last long. You probably won't even be able to drink enough to keep your beers cold because you lot are going out quick.

Enjoy your singsongs, your Kevin Youkilis goatees (well out of fashion BTW) and enjoy your games of pool and gambling on silly horses while your team goes out of the playoffs beginnning Wednesday. Make sure your bars are well-stocked because you're going to need it.

Enjoy your "gutsy" Dustin Pedroia and your suddenly fat "ace" Josh Beckett. Enjoy it while it lasts because when Vladimir Guerrero or Tex hit one out of the yard ... he didn't "pahk" it. He "parked" it. There is an English language and you'll need to learn how to use it soon because the Angels are going to tell you all about what RED means.

With courtesy (from an Angels fan who speaks English). Look forward to taking you on, and hopefully you look forward to getting drunk.

The Angels were a cursed organization………………..though 2002 vanquished the demons of the past and provided closure. But that curse cannot be ignored. It’s still there. It lingers. It lurks. Watching. Always watching. Never completely free of its wretched grasp.

The curse ain't there anymore

I’m an oldschooler too but this year I feel something different. My dad had a feeling in 2002 when we did it all and I was a nervous wreck. He told me to stay calm … we’re going to string some hits together boys … I got the same feeling now. Very calm and relaxed about the playoffs.

Now if this post attracts trolls, Rev, I apologise (all traffic is good for you I suppose), however the gauntlet needs to be thrown. Have it, Chowds

Humility is a good thing.

However, can chowd nation claim this as one of their virtues? I think not. Look at their ridiculous band wagon fans, arrogant player attitudes, and biased (L)east coast coverage. HighlandHalo is right, no jinx intended. Let’s at the very least show some faith in our Halos, and dare I say some well earned bravado, after all, we are the best team in baseball when all is said and done. The only club with 100 wins. I am not looking past the chowds, just keeping things in perspective, we earned our way into the post season, the Red Sux slid into the playoffs. If we are constantly to be reminded of our past playoff woes with the chowds, this years regular season success against Boston should also be acknowledged.
