Craptacular
Blame of the Game: Jose Arredondo
Oh so so so so many Angels qualify for "BOTG" tonight. Dondo was no Lone Gunman killing this victory... nope.

Blame of the Game
Napoli and/or Morales for doing absolutely nothing with bases loaded and 1 out in the 9th!
…Maybe that’s not entirely fair, but man did that piss me off.

Dondo.
Based on expectations alone, we’ve come to expect a lot more than giving up two runs in a one-run game from this guy.

garland or speier
dont give up that many run
My curse on the angels: I have been to 3 of his 5 blown saves, I was at the no-hitter for weaver, and I was there when Maicer had a season ending injury.
I am one LUCKY fan

Or give up one less than our guys get...
simple enough, right? ;)

Eh
Dondo’s going to have these nights now and then. Every pitcher does. Come on—he’s a rookie!
No, Soth gets blame for this one. When Garland’s wheels were clearly falling off, Soth left him in—and he allowed the game to be tied. Not that the bull pen would have been THAT much better for so many innings, but still.
Soth.

cannot be the manager
The player has to be ready when played.

All right
But I’m still not going to blame Arredondo. This is an expected bump in the road.
Arredondo did not put us into this position—if Garland hadn’t blown it earlier by giving up five runs, we would’ve won, even with Jose and Justin’s runs. Done.

Bulger isn’t with the team right now.

On the bright side
As Rory (and The Who) remarked, “The Kids are All Right”. Wood and S-Rod did well tonight.

Morales and Napoli
For their weak game ending at bats in the 9th with the bases juiced.
Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.

Hunter had just as bad of ab in the 8th
and if he gets anything done then Speier never comes in the game.

since i didn't see the game, i won't vote
and since i can’t find any videos (eff you, MLB), how was Wood’s double?
Mike Scioscia: He provides to unlike method of your team member.

Reached out and poked it into left
Tough pitch to handle, I’m surprised he got it all the way around. Painted it down the line…it was either a good piece of hitting or very lucky.

i like wood
but it was the luckiest hit i have seen in a long long time … meanwhile Ordonez (of all people) robbed brandon on the run of a sure-double deep to the R/CF gap.

The lucky hit to which Rev refers...
was a good confidence builder for Wood. He reached out and grabbed a curve ball that he would have previously just flailed miserably at. It shows he’s learning to hit the curve. It was a great AB.
How he got a pitch that far outside to be pulled within inches of the left field line is an amazing testament to his power.

It wasn't conventional,
but it wasn’t ‘lucky’ either. It showed just how strong Brandon Wood is and just how fast his bat is. No, he didn’t have picture perfect form. Tell you the truth it looked alot like about half of Vlad’s doubles, out in front, slightly fooled, still managing to square the ball up. Promising, in my mind.

Personally I'd say Speier for BOTG
The guy just sucks and I’ll be outraged if he’s on the playoff roster which he probably will be.
What I hated was that the Angels had 2 abs with the bases loaded and one out, they saw a total of 6 pitches in those 2 abs and they swung at EVERY single pitch. Hunter swung at all 4 and Morales swung at both of his even though the 2nd one he popped up on nearly hit him.

Garland needs to hang a zero in the 4th or 5th and keep the team in the game. Another bad start once again putting his team in a bad spot
BOTG
GARLAND
