Angels Minor League PLAYOFF Update
AAA: The Salt Lake Bees WIN 13-10 over Sacramento RiverCats (A's) 1-0 in best of 5 conference playoffs. Olympian Matt Brown led the mashing over our diviisional rival's future underpaid stars.
AA: The Arkansas Travellers had their first game of the 2008 Texas League North Division Playoff Series postponed by Hurrican Gustav's continued rain. Their opponent in the best of 5 series is the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Royals).
In other Travellers news, the team will get the services of Hank Conger for the playoffs as King Conger was transferred from High Single A to AA because...
High A: Rancho Cucamonga lost a one-game 13-inning playoff Tuesday. The manager and a coach and player Larry Infante got ejected from the game due to terrible umpiring.
Low A: It has stopped raining in Cedar Rapids and the Kernels took Game 1 of their Division Semi-Final against the Clinton Lumber Kings (wasn't that Barack Obama's opponent this past Summer too?). It was a 3-0 shutout of the Texas Rangers-affiliated Lumber Kings.
Rookie League: Our Orem Owlz play the Dodgers affilaite, the Ogden Raptors, beginning tomorrow.
No word from our Arizona or Dominican Rookie leagues, but sufice to say, we are kicking extreme tail in the minors.

Also, these games against the Raptors are just the end of the regular season for Orem.
Pioneer League playoffs don’t start until Saturday.

I think the guy doing their website is confused.
Which isn’t surprising, lord knows I was having trouble figuring it out. This link from the Ogden site says the playoffs begin Saturday, and the Pioneer League Schedule seems to agree (ie why would the four non-playoff teams still be playing once the playoffs start?

i was at the bees game in sac last night
there was actually a decent crowd at the start of the game with over 10,000, but by the 5th inning it had thinned to probably half that as the bees had an 8 run lead. both browns (matt and dee) looked good, but i was a little concerned about the defense up the middle. there were alot of miffed balls, but i guess that’s what happens when your best guys get called up. also had some scary flashbacks when bootcheck took the mound, but the bees got it done!
