A Challenge
All right, HHer's....I considered saving this idea until the offseason, when there'd be tons and tons of downtime, but I know I'll forget in the next month and a half, so here we go now!
HalosHeaven has been around for a long-ish time now (three years?). I've been a part of this community for nearly three full seasons now, which is hard to believe (I've been around these Internet parts longer than HGH? Say it ain't so!). Like all of you, I've read a lot of posts and diaries that were routine and nothing truly memorable. But then there were the ones we all thought (at the time) would go down in HH history.
They've cropped up from time to time--truly, incredibly brilliant comments on games, contracts, situations, transactions, rumors, standings, etc. Such posts in recent memory include "Switch Hit! The Movie" and the "All A-Hole Team."
But given a large forum such as this one, they tend to get lost in the shuffle.
So:
I want to know about your favorite posts on HalosHeaven, from any time in HH's history. Let's divide them into favorite comments and favorite diaries/fanposts. Or heck, even just favorite general moments.
Just copy the link to said comments, posts, etc. and maybe a word or two about them. But please keep it civil--that is, don't dredge up the things we'd all rather forget (i.e., johnsamo, the Noodle Incident, etc.)!
Have at it! Here's mine: The "Who've You Met?" post from July 2006: http://www.halosheaven.com/2006/7/31/15431/3996
This Fan-Post is authored by an independent fan. Tell us what you think and how you feel.

GOOD LORD
Stirrups, how the hell did you NOT include Jack Wilson on your team? He’d be like…the damn MVP!

by Caseys Kiss of Death on Sep 7, 2008 10:42 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Because Wilson, in the Shortstop position, looks like Lancelot compare to
Jolbert Cabrera!

Looking back on that post now, my mistake was not creating links to all the photos I found earlier in that game thread. Failure to do that made my final roster post somewhat flawed…

Can Wilson
at least get some consideration for a platoon-job? Cabrera blinds the lefties into a four-pitch walk, and Wilson makes the righties peg him in the nose to try to improve his looks?
by Caseys Kiss of Death on Sep 7, 2008 11:51 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah. I only put 15 guys on the roster.
Miguel Cario was already added, so there is still room for Wilson. I should relist with links to the mugshots which inspired each selection….

"A chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link".
An angry man once said:
"Justin Speier, if I ever see you as much as sniff the dirt on the mound in a tight game in an Angels uniform again I will personally re-enlist you in the Marine Corps and fly you to the closest war zone, drop 4 nuclear bombs on your ass and leave your charred carcass behind as a reminder to future mediocre relief pitchers the world over that this shit will not be tolerated in the fair city of Anaheim".
Phew. I feel better now. Thanks HH. Frankie should probably take the blame for this one but Howie sure did blow it in the 7th. Bonehead.

Thanks to Clutch for this post.
I found out about this site last November. Started following at the beginning of the season, but didn’t post until 6-7 weeks ago. I have found it (as warned by the Rev) addictive. There are at least 5-10 in-game posts that make me LOL…or worse.
In the 6-7 weeks, there have been so many posts that have been;
Flipping hilarious – What type of angel fan are you? Switch Hitter, Halo head shots
Serious – Frankie appreciation thread, Baseball and life
In-depth analytical – Anything by Zu Long
Unintentionally funny – Long Comments, Things the Ninja must do before the playoffs
Nostalgic – Nolan Ryan’s record breaker, 9 year old banned for bring too good
Informative – Anyone hear about this already?, Angel minor league playoff update, Halo Heaven Glossary,
Frustrating – Izturis to have season-ending surgery, Any losing game thread.
Overall, I have a deep appreciation and gratitude for the wide variety of wit, humor, analysis, and intelligent (well, mostly intelligent) level of comment on this site. Thanks to all that contribute. May it live forever.

I almost forgot about the "Strike Force" post, and these comments from The Limey;
Greatest achievement
"Being a big sister" – that’s not an achievement, it’s an accident of genetics. Aim higher.
3 words to describe you
"happy, goofy, fabulous" – that’s 2 parts Disney combined with 1 part gay man – no thanks
Interesting fact
"I once found a typo in a dictionary" – I don’t know where to begin with this
Embarrasing moment
"I tripped and fell while walking off the floor at a gymnastics competition" – clearly unable to walk in a straight line on flat ground (on the other hand, a gymnast who spends too much time on her back… maybe one for consideration)

Here's mine!
At least, one or two more.
First is the Rev’s deeply poignant thought at the end of the 2006 season—I think of this one a lot, for some reason:
There is some grand metaphor in the image of Tim Salmon finishing his career standing in the on-deck circle of an extra inning loss at home. (http://www.halosheaven.com/2006/10/1/2198/08888)
