Moseley to pitch Wednesday's game against NYY?
According to Yahoo!, click here, Moseley is going to pitch Wednesday against the Yankees.
I for one sure hope that isn't true. I'd rather see Adenhart or Green (who both should be available, unless I'm mistaken) take the mound. I know that neither of them have shown brilliant outings at the MLB level, but I'd rather see Soth give them a chance than Moseley.
What's your opinion ?
Ofcourse, we might just be talking in thin air; it could just be a guess on Yahoo!'s part as nothing is mentioned yet on the official Halos page.

GREEN not on big league roster
the Angels will not be starting Nick Green’s arbitration clock this season.
Considering Moseley’s one great start against the Athletics was better than anything Adenhart cobbled together, Dustin starting a game in Anaheim is a good thing.

But that was against the A's
No offense to the A’s, but as much as the Yanks have been struggling, their offense does not compare against the A’s.

Well then
Maybe we can risk our 17 game lead and see how he does under such pressure.

How about risking
The best AL record?
Boston’s closing in, Soth, and every win counts, even after we clinch the division.
It doesn’t matter how early we clinch if we’re at home on October 10 after being swept out of Tampa, Chicago, or Baaahstiin.

Which is just as important as knowing which pitchers on the staff
can pitch at the big-league level with any efficiency.
We’re likely only going to take the best three starters into the post-season (which should probably be Lackey-Santana-Saunders or Garland/Weaver for long relief); knowing who else outside of the usual suspects in the bullpen can help us in the post-season is slightly more important than maintaining a staggering and insurmountable lead over our division rivals and edging other divisions for the best in baseball.
Knowing the actual abilities of our depth is a GOOD THING even if losses result right now. Thank your heavenly stars (heh, pun) that we have a full 3-4 weeks to figure this out. It’s good to be on top!

I would like to see Shane Loux start just to see how he would do if he is available.
If he started he might just be able to give five or six good innings, he has the grit.

Isn't he on the DL still ?
I thought I read something about that.

Adenhart not on the active roster
Howie Kendrick, the Eric Davis of 2nd basemen...great when he's on the field, IF he's on the field...

yikes
is all one can say about the prospect of Dustin Moseley starting another Angel game this season. He stinks. He stunk all year at AAA Salt Lake. He has been atrocious with the Angels, including the start the other night…what makes anyone think this is a good idea?

Cant hurt too badly
Wouldnt be that much of a diff, and if he goes 2-3 innings, we got bulger, jepsen, oday etc.. to pick up the slack. But if he goes out and pitches very well, then we got ourselves some trade bait ;)
Exceeding expectations is less a matter of luck than possession of certain assets.

Everybody else will be suffering a hangover.
Clearly, Dustin is not invited to the celebration party.
Francisco Rodriguez: 201 career saves. 4 career Panthers, almost 1/2 as awesome as GMJ.

Complaining about a Dustin Moseley start with a 17-game lead...
…. is like __________.
For instance, “complaining about the maraschino (sic) cherry on the top of a sundae at the tail-end of a 12-course meal at Chez Fancypants.”

"Spot Starter"
During last night’s postgame interview, the Soth said (twice) it would be “Spot Starter.” I don’t see anybody by that name on the roster; what’s interesting is that he could have said, “Dustin Moseley,” but didn’t. In fact, it might be a “staff” start, now that they have even more pitchers on hand. Depending on what happens tonight, they could start Oliver (a former starter) for 3, giving way to a hodgepodge of Jepsen, Moseley, O’Day & Bulger until the 7th, when (depending on circumstances) Arredondo, Shields & K-Rod could assume their usual roles.
The Angels website still lists tomorrow’s starter as “To be announced.”
by jjackflash on Sep 9, 2008 4:14 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
i agree
plenty of RPs on the team to make it thru the game. Between Oliver & Bulger & Jepsen you’ll get 6+ innings. Moseley can be another one of the guys who can come in if needed for an inning or two (hopefully not).
Heck, with moseley starting, all the BP guys will need to pitch anyways because that dude won’t make it out of the 3rd inning. especially not on a day game. it’ll be batting practice for the yanks.
Go Angels!
