MLB fans/AT&T subscribers bitch here
So with the coming of the new year, I was really looking forward to the launch of the MLB Network. Well, I found out the hard way that AT&T U-Verse will not be carrying it. Neither does DirecTV. And unfortunately, I can't do anything about it because I am not the one in my family paying for our cable service. We switched over from Time Warner not too long ago and I was really excited to find out we were ordering the U-Verse 400 package, which offers all the movie and sports channels. But now this sucks because Time Warner carries the MLB Network and AT&T doesn't so I feel some sort of dirty trick has been played on me. I called AT&T earlier today about it and the automated voice said the U-Verse office was closed and then proceeded to list the business hours and according to what they listed, it should have been OPEN! Ugh. I guess I'll try again tomorrow. But yeah, if there are any other U-Verse/DirecTV subscribers that are also pissed, feel free to vent here.
P.S. I randomly came across some Cardinals board (not Viva El Birdos) and one of the members there said he had been told that the MLB Network will be carried on U-Verse starting January 5th but I have not been able to find any information to back that up at all.

Yeah.
It doesn’t show the “You need to call customer service to get this channel”, just a black screen.
Angels fan since '67
And that's both the standard and HD versions

DirecTV has MLBN
It’s a basic tier channel, 213; I’ve been watching since it came on the air. Dish Network is the one that’s not carrying MLBN.
Rally Monkey, Rally Rat...only ten more Halo Rally animals to complete the Chinese Zodiac.
Really?
Damn. Maybe I just remembered incorrectly but I know there is one satellite provider that does not have MLBN. Maybe it’s DISH network.

More about U-Verse
I’m about 90% sure that the Angels games on FSN West are going to be blacked out in my area…and I live 4 hours north of the stadium! I was looking forward to the 400 package, but now it looks like the only games I won’t get to see are the ones I want to see!
I don't know...I'm makin' this up as I go.
why do you say U-Verse blacks out games?
I have U-verse, last year not one game on FSN was blacked out. In fact a good number of games were in HD and TWC didnt have them in HD.
Where do you live?
I’m in Fresno and they are blacking out Clippers games here. (Not that I want to watch one…just looking ahead.)
I don't know...I'm makin' this up as I go.
I have U-Verse, just got it.
but, like you, I’m not the one paying the bills. I’m just going to request the MLB network in their name. ;P
I’m really disappointed that you can’t pause or rewind live TV with U-Verse unless you are using the main box. That’s my biggest gripe. I like to watch Vlad’s bombs over and over again!
Hostility abounds on Halos Heaven
i'm down in sd, got time warner
it works here…unfortunately i turned the channel on and they were talking about the yankees and red sox…sounds familiar doesn’t it?
I know what channel I WON’T be watching until at least spring training…
You think that's bad...
The first program without a generic title to show up on MLBN? Red Sox Memories. Guess there’s going to be another evil four-letter network after all…
