K-MO Still Killing It in the Dominican League

Rev posted a link to the Angels blog "3 Days of Cryin'" where I discovered that K-Mo is still killing it in the Caribbean. Currently he is number one in Home-Runs and second in OPS for the post-season after posting 404/.450/.778 for the regular season.

With so much talk about losing Teix and predictions of just how well K-Mo (along with Wood) will do this year for us, I thought that these numbers might bring some comfort and possibly spark a conversation or two.

The new guys are good at that.

Driven into right-center field, Erstad says he has it...the Angels, world champions!

Light Up That Halo!

Kendry's been lighting it up

ever since Casey was traded. He batted .418/.447/.684 in August at SLC, and put together some solid AB’s in Anaheim during September (despite a .186 BABIP). This got him on the playoff roster where he had two hits, including the big double off Masterson that ended with the failed squeeze play. As if to punctuate things, he has continued his rampage down in the Carribean this winter.

He’s ready to show what he’s got. Is he Teixeira? No. But methinks he’ll surprise a lot of people.

Tearing it up in the Winter League

is like tearing it up in AA. Tex has been tearing it up against major league pitching for years, until Kendry does it against ML pitching it’s just potential.

It’s good that he’s performing well, but it doesn’t necessary translate to Tex-like numbers during the 2009 ML season. Tex is a proven commodity, Kendry is not.

who said he was Tex-like?

No one here expects that. There’s only one 1st basemen in baseball better than Tex. But if Kendry can just be solid, he’ll at least soften the blow of letting Tex walk. He has absolutely nothing left to prove in the minors. Lets let him go and see what he can do.

Teix didn't like you, get it.

You are an Angel fan, Teix did not like YOU, get it? No matter ow much you like him, he didn’t like you? When you gonna take it personal?

by Rev Halofan on Jan 12, 2009 9:03 AM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Seriously?
When you gonna take it personal?

Hopefully never?

Anyone that feels the need to take personally the decision by Teixeira to sign with the Yankees needs to get their head examined.

HE didn't like you either, Jim

Give into your hate, Luke, embrace the power of the dark side, can you tell I am joking yet?

Sorry...

busy at work and reading comprehension don’t mix well. Apologies.

BTW, Jedi was on last night and I caught about 2 minutes – that scene with Vader/Luke and the Emperor all going at it.

Teix was unproven at one one point too

everyone was unproven until they got at bats.

Justin Upton didnt light it up last year. Is Arizona gonna give up on him? No. Guys need ABs

We'll see

Kowbell seems to be bored with the minors and responding to challenges.

The Halos just better have some backup plan in mind for midseason if the team O is not up to snuff. And I pray to Jesus that they are keeping their options open if a high OBP FA falls to them at a low price.

So there IS hope!

If, of course, all the other AL teams put Dominican League pitchers up on the mound when the Halos come to town.

Go K-Mo!

He’s officially on track then for his break out MLB season. Everything is going as planned. Those inside the inner-interior of the inner circle new this was the plan all along. Trade Kotch for someone people would accept knowing that he would want to leave so we could install Morales without a riot. The plan succeeded perfectly.

Angel Pitching, Angel Defense - get past that.
