I personally like Quinlan.
He’s a good soldier………..good attitude…………gets the job done, whatever he’s asked to do……..Not costly.
This could be his last year, due to MBrown and Sandoval pushing up from below, plus 2009 is his free agency year.

Which job does he get done exactly?
Or is it enough that he just records the At Bat?
I don't know...I'm makin' this up as I go.

You mean goofy?
Don’t know where the image is and/or don’t feel like looking it up—but don’t forget, that swing is ALL goofy, ALL the time!

Well..
for a backup that can “play” 1b, 3b and LF he isn’t too bad. A few breaks here or there and he can be a useful offensive player as a backup. He has had spurts in MLB that were pretty darn good.
I don’t hate “Q” as long as he is comfy with his super-sub role at 3 positions once a week, I’m OK with him.

kendry is going to be on a very short leash...
against left-handed pitching and if he fails, q will platoon.

The Q.
Yes Quinlan gets the job done,And he does have a lot of versatility, but if you really look at the stats he puts up,could we do better with someone else.

Well, it depends, I think...
He had two really good seasons and two pretty bad seasons. in 2004 he put up a 142 OPS+ and in 2006 he posted a 113 OPS+. Decent OBP in both seasons and SLG% at or over .500. Those are good seasons for a guy getting about 200 AB’s.
Now, 2007-08 have been bad, but if used correctly, only in a situation where he gets to his lefties, he is tolerable. He would be an upgrade on Figgy vs. LHP, I think, so he has value in a platoon situation.
Could the team do better? Yep. For $1.1 million? I don’t know.

Thing is, his two bad years were the last two years!
No way 1.1 million.

Who do you get for less? Seriously.
Remember, the guy has to play 1B, 3B and the corner OF spots.
I don’t doubt that $1.1 million is too much, but what are the alternatives?
