Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Someone To Consider?

A pretty good backup we can have is Joe Crede. If the Angels pursue to put Brandon Wood at 3rd, Joe could be a good mentor for the kid and if Brandon doesn't fit there, we have a talented 3rd basemen there. I know he's injury prone but we can probably give him a 1 year incentive based deal. Or 2 year deal. What do you guys think? What's up with the 75 words long crap Haha. There!!

doubt he’d sign to be a rookie’s backup when he can sign with someone like SF, especially when he already has a ring.

my opinion? pass.

Crede vs Angels 2008

.238/.333/.286, for an OPS of .619. That’s got to be worth $162M/6 yrs.

Career in Angel Stadium: .300/.349/.363, with 0 HR and 6 RBI in 80 AB.

Yes, he just eats us alive.

Can we please drop this discussion of Crede once and for all?

that game winning double in the Josh Paul game, for what it’s worth.

Adam Kennedy

hit 3 home runs in one game against Minnesota in the 2002 ALCS. What’s your point?

Totally Agree

Let’s move on to the next idea please…..

Also, Comiskey (or whatever it's called) is a righty hitters park

Crede’s career Away stats are: .258/.302/.431. Dallas McPherson’s lifetime numbers, by comparison, are .245/.298/.458 (and on the road: .267/.320/.472).

D-Mac

i hope he earns a spot down in Florida to play everyday. i would love to see what he can do in a full healthy season up in the bigs. not projections of what he might do but what he can actually do. see if letting Glaus walk away for him was worth it.

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR

Boras clients always want top dollar, whether they’ve earned it or not. Prepare for a knock-down, drag-out fight if the Angels were even to think of such a thing.

Crede wants to start, too. PASS.

Witty .sig goes here.

What the hell is with the love for Joe Crede?

It just makes no sense whatsoever. Please, please, please, before you post something about Joe Crede, go look at the numbers.

This guy is freaking awful, yet his name keeps popping up around here. Yes, Bill Stoneman had passing interest a few years back but it’s time to move on.

Oh, but his defense? Great, a one-dimensional corner infielder with incessant health issues.

Enough with this Joe Crede crap already. Sheesh. It’s like a bad word-association game. Someone say “third base” and someone else feels obligated to say “Joe Crede.”

"…he has a 2 seam ‘heavy’ fastball that has sink but he does not throw a ‘sinker’." Angel Aviator on Jake Peavy.

Brandon Wood

could probably post Joe Crede type numbers this season at the very least with the possibility of putting up even better numbers while he is a hell of a lot cheaper and his defense is just as good or almost as good.

i already got blasted for mentioning this

and have learned my lesson.

and Chzburger Jones is right…. Woody can probably put up Crede’s numbers for much cheaper.

Kotch would've had that.

Can we replace the Crede tag with dogshit?

This is the worst offseason in years. But hey we got Colorado's closer!
