Other teams./
I have no idea if this has ever been discussed on this site, but i was just curious on what other teams everybody liked. Its obvious were all angel fans here with the same goal in mind. What gets me is when i see a car with an angels sticker right next to a new england patriots sticker? WTF is up with that?
MLB - Angels
NFL - 49ers
NHL - Kings
NBA - Lakers
NCAA - The typical USC and UCLA

other teams:
NFL – Colts (although i don’t follow NFL too closely)
NHL – Ducks (same story as NFL)
NBA – Lakers (same… sensing a pattern here?)
NCAA – Boise State (this one’s an obsession like the Angels)
Kotch would've had that.
You can usually check our profile by clicking on our name, but I will write it out here for you:

I just read your post a bit closer...
it actually makes me sick to see the number of 49er fans that are also Angel fans… I don’t get THAT…
Granted, the Rams left Anaheim, I understand some Rams hate here on this board, but…
To be an LA fan AND an SF fan just doesn’t make sense. You have the whole north-south bit and the fact that the Rams and 49ers hated each other. The 49ers owned Anaheim Stadium for quite a while, I’ll admit, but it certainly led to my disliking that franchise even more.
Generally, back in the day, if you were an Angels fan, you were also a Rams fan. Just sayin’.
As you were.
the 49ers
kinda grew on me as a kid. Im more of a west coast/east coast hate than i am a north/south cali hater.

The 49ers grew on me as a kid as well.
And if the 49ers and the rams are mortal enemies, sign me up with the f’in 9ers.
Not much of a rivalry any longer STL – SF just doesn’t have the ring that LA – SF once had. Further, both teams suck (mine much worse than yours BTW), so the rivalry is a joke at this point.

I'm still a Rams fan
And it royally pissed me off in that douche of an owner said after winning the super bowl that leaving Anaheim was the best thing they ever did. Talk about a knife into the heart

dads from SF, grandparents and family up there
born in orange county. Grew up rooting for the 49ers (born waaay to late to be an LA rams fan), and naturally for the angels. Also a huge Cal(Berkeley) fan. Both parents, an aunt, uncle, brother went/go there, and i want to go there too. Hate the As though. I am a laker fan, but not so much anymore. And the chargers are my AFC team. Ducks for the NHL

NFL-Rams (they never left, they’re just on the road)
NHL-Kings (Ducks wouldn’t exist w/out the Kings)
NBA-Lakers
MLB-Angels
NCAA-UCLA (more championships and olympians than SUC, even if you let SUC count their special olympians)
Ok..
NFL – Game for fat freaks
NBA – Game for tall freaks
NHL – the least TV friendly sport of all time
NCAA – I still can’t work out the obsession with college sports on your side of the pond
Football – Liverpool FC
Cricket – Surrey CCC
I see red people
There is actually a team called the “White Anglo-Saxon Protestants?” Yikes.

NFL – Don’t give a damn
NHL – Ducks, but otherwise, don’t give a damn.
NBA – Lakers
MLB – Angels, Dodgers (Yes, I know. I’ve heard it all. Bitch at me if you want. I don’t care. I have my reasons and are content with them.)

I’ve got some secondary teams…they’re in parentheses. For the record, the Pats are my team because of Drew Bledsoe.
NFL – Patriots (Chargers)
NHL – Kings
NBA – Lakers
NCAA – Northeastern Huskies (Cal Golden Bears, anyone playing U$C)
Soccer – Arsenal (LA Galaxy)
http://inplaynoouts.blogspot.com/ - A blog about teams I like, written by me.
I come from a land outside of major markets
Therefore, my teams jump around a bit. I’m from outside Richmond, VA, so I suppose I should be a Braves/Panthers/Hurricanes/Bobcats/Hokies fan, but thankfully life worked out differently.
MLB – Angels
NFL – Broncos
NHL – Sharks
NBA – Jazz
NCAA D1A Football – Maryland
NCAA Basketball and D1AA Football – Old Dominion
Representing...
NFL – Chargers
NHL – Kings
NBA – Clippers
NCAA Basketball – UCLA
NCAA D1AA Football – Cal Poly
upstate new york(doesnt explain much)
NFL – Falcons
NHL – Canadiens
NBA – Lakers
NCAA – Syracuse (SU hoops is my second fave team behind the Angels)
Still, I wish I was here

…and to think the Angels have identity issues
I see red people
Hmm
NFL—49ers (Dad’s side of the family is from SF; I don’t really follow pro football) (sometimes Chargers?)
NHL—Ducks, I suppose
NBA—Gotta be Lakers? Again don’t follow pro basketball that closely. Enjoyed the Bulls in the 90s, though that’s kind of like a socal kid becoming a Baahstiin fan, so I don’t admit it (except, you know, in public).
NCAA—Stanford/UCLA (U$C on some rare occasions when it’s playing outside the Pac-10)
Light Up That Halo!
NBA MLB and NFL to a lesser extent
NFL—Rams
NBA — Lakers
NHL — Red Wings
NCAA —too boring for me, just a bunch of blowouts with the occasional good game
My Faves
NFL-Long suffering Browns fan
NHL-If I had to pick, the Ducks
NBA-Lakers
and then the obvious team we all gather for
the NFL sucks
Georgia Frontiere effectively killed it for me, and the league has gotten sillier since.
It’s the Angels and Lakers for me, with the occasional soccer match. Who will join me at the Home Depot Center for the USA-Sweden friendly this month? Yeah, no Ibrahimovic, but you’ll still have to wear blue and yellow anyway (Larsson makes his return!).
I thought that
We were never going to speak of She-who-must-not-be-named again?
Angels fan since '67
I've written off the Rams since Georgia drowned Carroll in the Florida surf
Other than my saving grace, The Halos, I couldn’t really G.A.F. about professional sports.
Call the cops, Martha ... Something's amiss over at Room 52 at the Ivanhoe Motel on Katella.
Kinda like those guys wearing Tony Romo jerseys at Angels games. Misplaced.
by Downing Rules on Jan 7, 2009 2:15 PM PST up reply actions
Well, the Ducks do play right across the street.
An Angels jersey at a Ducks game makes more sense than a Romo jersey at an Angels game.
Angels fan since '67
i went to the ducks game last friday night...I wore an Angels hat too...
When people asked me about the hat, I told them the “A” was for Anaheim Ducks
was gonna go to the first ducks/kings game with an angels sweatshirt
but my bro went instead.
might go tommorow (today) and ill be wearing my angels gear if i go

Halofolifes faves
NFL-Go Redskins
NHL-I don’t follow hockey
NCAA-UCLA
NBA-Lakers baby!!
MLB- No need to ask!!!!
I used to go to Rams games (I went to the last game in Anaheim, Skins 24-Rams 21) and was a casual Rams fan, but after that Golden Girl drop out, Georgia got her liver spotted claws on the club and moved ‘em, I couldn’t bring myself to watch anymore.
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
mine...
NFL – Bills (im a sucker for a loser)
NBA – Kings(Still on that loser thing)
NHL – Ducks (although I dont ever watch except for highlights on SC)
NCAA – Stanford and Air Force (gotta get the nor-cal representation and I was in the AF for 6 1/2 years so I follow them because its the closest I will come to going to a major college)

yeah well they had beat Houston earlier in the year.....
however they were aided by the fact that a hurricane was coming through Texas thus helping keep Houston’s pass happy offense in check…..
They played em tough in the bowl though and the really great thing is (I believe) they are only losing three starters total………and only like 4 more next year….so they’re young and should be in the thick of the MWC again next year (assuming BYU, UTAH, TCU dont improve anymore) A top 2-3 finish should be in order.
12/19/08 - Thank you KLJ for coming into my life.
by norcaliangelsfan on Jan 7, 2009 5:58 PM PST up reply actions
utah is losing Brian Johson
and BYU is losing Max Hall. And TCU’s defense was full of seniors. So Air Force should move up next year.
Coach Whit over there at Utah is gonna reload though....probably get a solid recruiting class too
so I know they’ll be just fine.

NFL-Chargers/49ers
NBA-Lakers/Clippers
With these two its always worked out that they’ve been good at the same time. With the Clippers and the Chargers, it was originally because they were both perennial losers. But now everyone and their mom is a Chargers fan, so dont feel so special anymore.
NCAA-UCLA of course
NHL-Ducks
MLB-The Angels are the only ones for me.
i agree with everything
except for the clippers

Soccer – Liverpool FC
Football – New England Patriots
NBA – pro wrestling, but without the honesty
NCAA – ’cuz John Robinson and I got some history
NHL – The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim: R.I.P.
Yeah, that NE Pats sticker might as well be mine. But before you say anything more, fuck you. I’ve been a fan since 1973. Long before today’s asshole Patriots fans were out of their diapers. I don’t like my fellow fans either. And, between them and me, I’m the one who suffered nearly 30 friggin’ years of misery. They can kiss my ass.
thats cool
the annoying thing is the closeted “patriots-celtics-red sox” fans that are now suddenly coming out of the woodworks now that their teams are decent. that, and i think most other people, is what i have a problem with. long time fans i appreciate, no matter the team. takes dedication.
except the skankees
and celticrap

Got tickets for the Portsmouth game in 4 weeks...
…should be a lively one.
I’d sacrifice my first born for tickets to the Real Madrid games in the champion’s league.
I see red people
Having never been to Europe
and never immersed in national pride, I have yet to think o fthe champions league as anything other than another club tourney. So, I gotta learn to crawl before walking. I remain nervously focused on being in 1st in Premier…
You and me both...
…if Manchester United win the Championship this year, they’ll tie us on 18 and we’ll never hear the end of it (well, I certainly won’t).
Look at the upside – 4 of the 5 hardest fixtures have already been played (Chelsea, Arsenal, Villa, Everton away), we’ve already beaten United once, we’re 3 points clear and we did this with Torres only starting 6 games in the first half.
We’ll be better than that in he 2nd half of the season.
Having said that, sticking one on Real Madrid, the World’s smuggest sporting team (ahead of Boston, New York), in the tournament they believe to be their birth-right, would be hugely satisfying…
I see red people
Go Halos!
NFL— Rams (I moved so I guess they can too)
NBA — Lakers
NHL — Kings
NCAA —UCLA in every sport
Outfielders For Sale! This weeks special...GMJ - see Tony for details!
NFL – Vikings (LA has no football team, so I go for closest to home)
NBA – Lakers (do the Clippers have any fans?)
NHL – Ducks (but to be honest, I don’t give a shit about hockey and think it is a pathetic excuse for a sport)
NCAA – Wisconsin (where I went to school)
Just curious...
Why so hard on hockey? It seems difficult to play and tough to learn. Basketball and baseball, in my opinion, are much easier to learn and play. I just don’t understand your “pathetic excuse for a sport” comment.
since 1961
especially from someone who lives on the frozen tundra. I thought everyone in WI MN and ND were hockey nuts.
by Downing Rules on Jan 9, 2009 11:19 AM PST up reply actions
where i'm from people have huge hard-ons for hockey...
it annoys the hell out of me. they way they talk about it. the way hockey players act around here (like they are gods of a sport that more than three states in this country care about). everything.
but what bothers me the most about hockey is the fact that fluke deflections can change the entire outcome of a game. if a team is down one goal with five minutes left, the game is more or less over (except the few exceptions where the team in the lead blows it).
i mean, if a team is down one score with fifteen seconds left, there is really no way to draw up a play to be executed to tie or win. in baseball a team can execute in the ninth to score a run. in basketball a play can be ran with ten seconds left to take the lead or tie. in football there’s the two minute drill. in hockey, the excitement of these situations just doesn’t exist.
seriously
i’m not a hockey nut but i do casually follow the sport. it is a great game with highly skilled athletes. you can definitely draw up plays with 10sec left on the clock. 15sec is lifetime in hockey.
fluke deflection? like a fluke error late in a game that might cost a team a game in the WS? Buckner?
i completely and utterly disagree with your first point. thats ridiculous.
how often does a team call a timeout with 15 seconds left in a hockey game, draw up a play, and execute it to score a goal before the end of regulation? almost never. all the defense has to do is dump the puck out to the other side of the ice. 15 seconds in hockey is not a lifetime, its the exact opposite – comparable to half a second in basketball.
in response to your second point:
a fluke error BY ITSELF doesn’t often effect the outcome of a game. someone had to get on base before the error didn’t they? unless it is a four base error/combination of errors, it takes someone to execute first and either get on base before the error or drive in the runner who reached on an error.
wait
were talking about calling a timeout and drawing up a play off a faceoff. if the team that needs the goal wins the faceoff then 15sec is eternity to put up a good shot on goal. yes its easy for the defense to dump it but its not like hockey is high scoring game.
how many basketball games end with a game winning shot out of a timeout? probably more then hockey but hockey is harder to score a goal then basketball.
without a fluke error the other player wouldn’t have scored. game would have been over.
i guess my argument boils down to the "excitement factor"
the ninth inning in baseball, the final two minutes in football, and the final minute in basketball are all far more exciting than the last five minutes of a hockey game.
agree to disagree
i guess it depends on the situation.
other teams
MLB:Angels
NFL:Raiders, i don’t really follow the raiders anymore since they got rid of Gruden. i find it hard to root for another team i guess beacause i don’t follow the NFL as much. its way too conservative.
NCAAF:UCLA, i find the college game more exciting.
NBA:Heat, man crush on Riley. (was a Laker fan in the mid 80’s to early 90’s, then became a Knick fan then the Heat.)
red floyd sayz
MLB: Angels!!!!!!
NFL: Broncos
NHL: Kings
NBA: Lakers
NCAA: who gives a flying leap? The school I went to wasn’t even Div III
MLS: Not sure, sort of follow the galaxy
Football: no real pref, except in the World Cup, in which case it’s anyone but Brazil. Brazil is like the Yankees. You either love ‘em or you hate ’em, but you know they’re going to be in it.
Synagogue Softball: Performing Arts Underdogs!!!!
Angels fan since '67
keepin it rollin'
MLB – Angels
NFL – Rams ( I agree with thejd, they’re just on the road )
NHL – Ducks and Kings
NBA – Lakers ( Cuz with basketball it’s either them or the Clippers, ’nuf said )
NCAA BB – UCLA
NCAA FB – Notre Dame
And off topic, does anyone remember the Long Beach Ice Dogs?? Are they still around?? I saw them play when i was something like 14 and it was a better experience than watching the Kings play a couple years before that (of course that’s when the Kings played at the Forum which only had good seats if you were on center ice).
