Scott Kazmir vs. Red Sox Batters
Angels Starting Pitcher Scott Kazmir will likely face the following lineup in Boston on Sunday Morning. Here is his record against each batter for regular season matchups...
Jacoby Ellsbury - 6 for 20, 1 double, 2 Ks, .650 OPS
Dustin Pedroia - 15 for 29, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 HR, 6 BB, 1 K, 1.393 OPS
Victor Martinez - 5 for 11, all singles, 1 K, .909 OPS
Kevin Youkilis - 9 for 38, 3 doubles, 6 BB, 14 K, .649 OPS
David Ortiz - 9 for 44, 1 double, 2 HR, 6 BB, 11 K, .664 OPS
Jason Bay - 4 for 15, 1 double, 1 HR, 2 BB, 6 K, .886 OPS
Mike Lowell - 10 for 40, 2 doubles, 4 HR, 4 BB, 10 K, .933 OPS
J.D. Drew 1 for 7, 1 triple, 1 BB, 3 K, .900 OPS
Alex Gonzalez - 4 for 10, 1 double, 2 K, .900 OPS
Facing almost this same lineup in Game 2 of the 2008 ALCS, Kazmir surrendered 3 HR, 2 to Pedroia and 1 to Youkilis. He gave up a 2-run double to Bay in the first inning of a 4+ inning start in Tampa Bay on 7 days rest.
In Game 5 of the same series he went 6 innings, gave up 2 hits, no runs, waked 3 and struck out 7. He pitched on his regular 4 days rest.
Kaz will be pitching on 8 days rest in Fenway Park today.

Ah man
Kazmir has two tough acts to follow.
Come on Kazmir! Shut the door on the Red Sox!
The Big Red Machine V.2 is coming this Fall 2009. Go Halos!
Almost disheartening
Is a sweep of the Red Sox just too good to be true for the Angels? :(
Go Angels go!
He gets through 5 IP
and he’s done his job. The front-end bullpen is probably getting a little antsy in their recent lack of work.
It's true
Kazmir doesn’t really go deep into games, does he?
The Big Red Machine V.2 is coming this Fall 2009. Go Halos!
Just looked it up
He’s only ever pitched a complete game once in his career.
2006 vs Boston: 3-0, 9.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 10 K, 120 Pitches.
I would like to see this Kazmir on the mound today, please.

There is always the invincible Matt Palmer to pull up the rear.
So I am not that worried.
The 2009 Pregame Picks Winner and Iron Man of Halos Heaven.com
Matt Palmer has been a monster long reliever for us
But he has no holds. So I guess we don’t put him in close games?
He’s got a 2.56 ERA in his last 18 appearances. 2-1 record, yet in those appearances, the Angels went 7-11.
So he’s mostly put in when the team is losing.

2.45 since July first
in 28 appearances. Wow.

just waking up now. 930 am here.
heading to fenway. its chilly here today though. temperature could be a bit of a factor. this city was pretty quiet after friday night. lot of people were pissed at me.
Pissed at you???
That doesn’t make any sense … unless you’re Papi or Pedroia. In that case, they have a point.

early offensive explosion for the angels today
it will get so bad for the sox, that francona will ask to borrow willits and quinlan to insert into the sox lineup, so they get the full effect of having their asses kicked.
top of the morning to ya, chowds

Great quote from Hunter
Hunter has mixed feelings about the struggles of Ortiz, one of his best friends in baseball.
"I hate to see him go through that," Hunter said of his former teammate with the Minnesota Twins, "but while he’s going through it, he might was well go through it Sunday, too."

Notice how when the Skankees are on they have a pregame show?
Do Ron Darling and Chip Caray more or less sound dissapointed when the Angels do someting good?

They hire guys that are terrible.
I still can’t believe how obviously biased the network is by hiring TWO OUT OF TWO Red Sox announcers to do this series. I mean C’mon! That be like having Hud and Rory do the series. Though we would like it, it wouldn’t be very balanced.
by Big Bad, 'Vlad'! on Oct 11, 2009 8:49 AM PDT reply actions
i think only 1 is a Sux announcer
that would be Orsillo, but the other is actually the Orioles announcer…
World Series '09 - In Memory of #34 Nick Adenhart!
Not sure if anyone has posted this....
….Scot Kazmir has the second best left handed era in Fenway history since 1945, as a pitcher with more than 10 starts, Kaz is 6-4 with a 3.05. I kinda like our odds
