CC v. Big John
Anyone who has read an Angels/Yankees preview has witnessed the manlove expressed by Yankee fans toward CC, and we all know that Big John is an absolute beast. So as we approach the Battle of the Titans on Friday, I think it is worth taking a look at which pitcher is "better."

Once again...
The numbers do not support the opinions expressed by the “experts.”
This reminds of the constant drumbeat about the powerful Red Sox offense, third in the AL in runs scored. Who was second, you douches?
Obviously the Yanks, with the Red Sox having the most runs. Only Boston and the NYY are allowed to lead the league in any statistic.

That's what I was thinking.
I’m wondering if we’ll be seeing Bartolo Colon, Marie Osmond Nutrilite commercials anytime soon?
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
Nutri/System.
Marie plugs Nutri/System
Valerie Bertinelli plugs Jenny Craig (after Kirtie Alley’s epic fail)
Not sure who plugs Weight Watchers (which is kind of embarrassing, since I’m a WW member)

Thanks for the heads up.
I knew I was wrong when I posted that. I think Golic, Marino and Shula pimp Nutrilite.

in fairness,
colon should not have won that. i was happy since he was an angel and everything but santana was robbed.
"it's mind-bottling."
CC gets tired after five or six innings easily and grows hungry.

we all saw him choke in the ALCS in 07, then run out of gas in 08.
He has the ability, but odds are he will not perform as well as the skanks were hoping when they paid him.

Just look at that Postseason ERA this year.
CC is literally infinitely worse than Lackey.
That’s how stats work, right?
Let's do this for Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Henry Pearson.
CC in his career vs. the Halos.
5-7, ERA 4.72, WHIP 1.460, SO/9 6.8, .278 BAA, .760 OPSA. In short he has not done so well against us.

Wow, would you believe
5-7, 4.66 ERA, 1.534 WHIP, .289 BAA, .817OPSA? So yeah, this may not be the pitcher’s duel many expect…

I remember a slugfest in the World Series about 7 years ago
was at that game – I wouldn’t mind duplicating it at the expense of CC’s and John’s ERA.
As long as the Halos win, I don’t care how its accomplished.

Just curious, how does CC have INF strikeouts this postseason?
RIP Nick Adenhart.

Oh, right, missed that "/BB" part!
Surprise the comp didn’t explode when asked to calculate that one, then!

Its a tough choice
I mean, CC has the better talent, but Lackey has the makeup and that mentality that he is just NOT going to lose. Im not exactly sure how much the mentality outweighs CCs talent (but Lackey isnt some random shmuck either, hes a top 15 SP in the league)

CC is a good pitcher no doubt.
And Lackey pitched a tremendous game 1 against the sux. But, I’d rather go with Lackey, don’t get me wrong, if it was a hot dog eating contest, or an Oprah look alike contest, Sabathia’s your man, but I have every confidence that Lackey and the rest of the Halos have exorcised their playoff demons.

CC's got better career numbers...
But John is looking for a new contract and what better place to audition than on this national stage…
Career postseason numbers?
I certainly was not impressed with start against the Twins.
I know most NYY fans were saying “uh oh!” when the Twins got the early lead.
Play Wood already. Willits sucks.
Big John Lackey Anyday
Show CC what a fat turd he is. Go shut them faggots and their faggot fans. Show them media what Angels are all about. Go John!
