A biblical view of the ALDS

From the Book of Arte, Chapter MMIX

  1. And did the Seraphim do battle yet again with the Stockinged Ones.
  2. Four times before had they battled, and never had the Seraphim been victorous.
  3. And the Stocking Ones had a mighty herald, and the name of the herald was Espin.
  4. And Espin proclaimed that surely the Stocking Ones would prevail.
  5. As Espin sayeth, "Surely the Stockinged Ones shall prevail, for never before have the Seraphim conquered them".
  6. And did the soothsayers believe Espin, and foretell the same.
  7. Yet the host that was of the Seraphim did have their mighty sticks of thunder.
  8. And forsooth, the first two battles were in the place of the Seraphim, under the Mighty Alpha.
  9. And did John the Large cast his ball mightily, and the Hunter did wield his weapon so that the Stockinged Ones did lose the first battle.
  10. And in the second battle, was the Clothmaker battling the Playwright, and yet again were the Stockinged Ones defeated.
  11. And then did they journey unto the Way of the Fen, even in the shadow of the Monster that is Green.
  12. And the Stockinged Ones did frustrate and confound the Seraphim, e'en unto the brink of defeat.
  13. For the Stockinged Ones did bring out the Smear.
  14. And yet, the Seraphim feared not, for the spirit of the Monkey was with them.
  15. And behold, the Admiral did smite the ball.
  16. And did he of the Fig note that the casting was poor, and travel unto the field of battle.
  17. Then did the Chupacabreu wield his weapon mightily, smiting even the Monster.
  18. And the Stockinged ones took note and did try to achieve by guile that which they could not by force.
  19. For did they pass up the Hunter that they might do battle with the Big Father.
  20. And verily, had the Big Father been wounded, that his might was not as before.
  21. And yet, the Big Father did show the Stockinged Ones the error of their ways, for he did smite the ball, that those on the field of battle might return home.
  22. And were the Seraphim victorious, and they did use a broom as well.
  23. And all the soothsayers were astonished, as they had been in days of yore.
  24. And Espin was silenced, for the nonce.
