Game 4 decisions?
Given the results up and down the starting pitching and bullpen of the yankees for Howie "The Yankee Killer" Kendrick, should Scioscia give him second base tomorrow? Izzy is nice but not Howie Kendrick. Izzy's errors were absent too, so go on discuss amongst yourselves. Seriously I'll wait, I'll stand over here waiting for 75 words la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la

I like… no LOVE having HK start at 2b, napoli start, and have mighty mouse pinch for naps when there is a clutch hit to be had, and playing the rest of the game with hk and mathis!
and maybe give GMJ a shot to start, and sub with juanito, cuz Juan is giving us nothing right now

of course
CC is pitching. he’s always in there against lefties. Mathis was probably going to play tomorrow also since Naps played today.

Not so sure that was or is the case
Naps has caught the bulk of the starts when Kaz has been on the bump

HK starting is a given...
CC lefty going in game 4 for the yanks… Howie will start it out and Izzy’s PH prowess will be ready to go. Mathis better get the start tomorrow too he’s called games for the halos so far and it seems like he’s stolen the offensive mojo from sidekick Napster. Where in the hell is Napoli anyway that guy is MIA in the playoffs thus far

John Lackey
Bring him back on 3 days rest. Then if we get to game 7, big John can pitch that one too, on regular rest. Play Howie, and bring Maicer off the bench. Worked just fine.

no way
keep the rotation set. no reason to mess with it. NYY if this goes to Game 7, CC will run out of gas that fat ass.

Really?
Kazmir is pretty great against the Yankees in his career. It’s part of the reason we traded for him.
by Caseys Kiss of Death on Oct 19, 2009 6:44 PM PDT up reply actions 1 recs
Don't know if that's the reason we traded for him
But yes, that makes much more sense to start the guy with the 2.67 ERA lifetime against the Yankees as opposed to the guy with the ballpark 4.66 ERA lifetime against the Yankees…and on short rest to boot!
RIP Nick Adenhart.

I can only speculate
I’m sure reason #1 was insurance against Lackey leaving in the offseason.
But I don’t doubt that it was in the minds of Reagins, Moreno, Scioscia, etc. that Kazmir just-so-happened to have strong lifetime numbers against a likely playoff opponent.

Baseball is a wicked master.
CKOD has the disease. The same one that brought you and I back after the strike(s).
You too can be a baseball media analyst! Just don't allow your need to be wrong in public to get in the way of your ignorance.

I usually prefer to call the disease 'drunkenness'
if I did it more than half a dozen times a year, maybe it could venture within 30 miles of ‘alcoholism,’ but it doesn’t.
Strike. Pfft. You old man.
Then again, I remember reading about it and experiencing it when I was only 8.

The disease of baseball often travels through a bottle or two
as one struggles with their addiction. Us Halo fan geezers have been spared this struggle most of our lives, since the Halos rarely sniffed October. But we know it from the strikes. And we know it from a few years that must remain unmentioned. And, fortunately, we know it well this decade. Just as we know that you snot-nosed younglings will accumulate your litany of painful memories as you go through your years (probably more, since you are being weaned on success, rather than failure, and you are going to miss these days down the road).
And just as we know your pain, we also know that you will be back. You will always come back. Each time, you may blame something different, but you will always come crying back.
You are in denial, youngling. It happens to us all. The ball is not in the catcher’s mit. Turn around. Your centerfielder is watching it fly over Thunder Mountain and out into the bright blue sky.
You too can be a baseball media analyst! Just don't allow your need to be wrong in public to get in the way of your ignorance.

I'm not old enough to have suffered the 60s, 70s, and 80s and all of those "all-mosts"
but my first year as an Angels fan was a month before the strike. My first (almost) full season was the 1995. Which was followed by the disastrous 1996. And then my favorite player was traded for a guy who “couldn’t open a beer bottle properly.”

Nope, Kaz gets the start. This is what we got him for, he can either hack it or he can't.

**** it, I'd take Buck Martinez back at this point.
Atleast we can trust him not to slobber over the Yankees at every damn opportunity.

Figgy in #9 slot
Over the last 3 years Figgy is nothing special against lefties.
Put HK47 in the leadoff spot, and hope that by Figgy’s 2nd or 3rd at bat they knocked out CC for a RHP.
Also, Side Salad must be in the game. He wrecks LHP.
by elricsi on Oct 19, 2009 11:33 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
We'll see both...
HK and Naps…
With a lefty on the mound both dominant rightys will bat…
When we see a RH reliever come in, then MAYBE we’ll see HK lifted for Izzy. We better not see any of this GMJ hitting for Naps again though…
by Jietoh on Oct 20, 2009 8:55 AM PDT reply actions 0 recs
no way
don’t you think its time to just let HK play. i want him to stay in the whole game. this guy right now is in a zone, especially agaist the yanks.
i’m sorry but Naps has struggled all series. he might be on one of those bad, very bad streaks he tends to get into.
