Officials invoke the name of pitcher Nick Adenhart in asking fans to be responsible.
Police on alert for drunken drivers at Angels game.
From the look of that pic it looks like the police will indeed have a "heavy" presence.
I went to ALDS game 1 and it didn't seem that the cops were very active. We were able to have a couple of beers in the car before hand. Anyone go yesterday? Was there more of a police presence or is this just hype to scare people into buying beer inside?
I personally think it is ridiculous to site the change in enforcement as having to do with the Adenhart accident because they've been lax about it all season. This should have been done immediately after the accident if they were hoping to make a statement about drinking and driving.
I really isn't a big deal to me not to be able to drink in parking lot but it just pissed me off that they site the Adenhart tragedy like that.

in Fountain Valley, is the place to go, to see all the police officers get shit faced drunk, drive home, and pay homage to all the drunk drivers they arrest during their shift.
What do you need a fancy suit for, Charlie, you ain't got no job to wear it to.
Isn't that bar right across the street from their station????
If so I don’t doubt that at all. So sad.
Hop, skip and a jump.

That's where I was as I watched Fuentes get the final outs in the Boston Series.
I love that place. Even if they were showing football on more screens than the Angels Games, at least everyone cheered when the Angels completed the sweep.
It could happen! Let's do this for Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Henry Pearson.
Everything makes sense now
It was in a statement made by Sandy Hutchens, who is a complete idiot
We are the Los Angeles Angels of the late 2000s
I don't know that she's an idiot, but I'm really annoyed that she and the others have managed to connect the issue of drunk driving to baseball.
The accident had nothing to do with baseball or drinking at the games.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
I think it's disrespectful of them to use Nick as an excuse every time they crack down
And as jhens76 mentioned, if that was actually the reason they would have done a better job of it all season long.
I think one of the comments on the article summed it up pretty well;
handing out drinking in public tickets at 5pm is not stopping dui’s.
That’s just funding the police force and unnecessarily hassling those who are being responsible
I was at Game 1 of the ALDS
And the cops were Active, Mainly because the Red Sox fans kept fighting with themselves and Angel fans.
I was there, too...
every Red Sox fan was facing back AWAY FROM THE FIELD, one of the sins of a visiting fan according to my rules for a visiting fan “guide.” That’s asking for people to throw stuff at you and inciting the home team’s fans.
I love this team.
