there are just too bad many calls at first base. And that was one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen. I think its the sportscenter effect – first base umps want to make a strong out call on a spectacular defensive play.

used to be 10 – 12 of the BEST umps did post season and WS….but the UNION said no, no…that isn’t fair….they should ALL get a chance….kind of like in little league where they give all the kids a trophy whether they win or not….so they are supposed to review their ump rules….which usually means it’s going to continue to be screwed up….
